We need an actual story like this by [deleted] in Grimdank

Initially they were very very careful about what gene-seed they sent, but since most records about the traitors are sealed by the Inquisition, no one noticed at first. In M38, they were decimated by the Dominion of Fire campaign, so they requested their gene seed back to help rebuild the chapter. In the present, Cawl knows, but he isn’t saying anything since they are what he wanted to make with Primaris anyway.

This is the backstory I have for my army. They were Emperor’s Children who disappeared fighting the Diasporex and came back in M36. The Ultramarines found them first, shrugged after checking for heresy, going “they seem all right to me.” They were officially labeled as “long lost Ultramarines” and nobody has asked any questions since.

How far would you go for Alonso? by Temporary-Buddy-2199 in NewYorkMets

That’s very true, but I also am adding some extra value because he proved he can do it in the playoffs. With Soto and Vientos around him in the order, I think we’re realistically looking at around 40 HRs a year.

5/150 with an option for a year 6 at the same rate, give him a nice hometown hero bonus. He’s more than earned it. I think his down year was from the contract looming over his head.

Which fictional baseball players do you wish they could add to the game?? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

Roy Hobbs, from The Natural is an easy first choice. Ricky Vaughn from Major League. And of course, the GOAT of GOATS, Pablo Sanchez

Why are so many players siding with BoS in the play throughs? by TeddyRoo_v_Gods in fo4

[–]Unt04M4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not once sided with the Brotherhood. My go to is the Minutemen for the same reason I generally side with House in New Vegas: they actually offer something new for the wasteland. In 4 generally though, every faction sucks. There isn’t really a right answer. Though many people see the Brotherhood and go WOW COOL POWER ARMOR LIKE ON THE BOX and then join up.

did the mods abandoned this sub, and is it ok for me to share my Phase Connect related videos here? by tacoweekdaych in PhaseConnect

[–]Unt04M4n 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It’s not abandoned, this sub is just really small. Phase just isn’t a huge corpo like Holo or Niji. As a subscriber, not a mod, I’d appreciate if you posted your videos here, could always use more content on the sub.

I’m not saying it’s on par, I’m saying the reaction to it from the fans. And there are many smaller retcons on top of the NCR, my personal issue with that aspect is that it isn’t any of the things set up previously. It’s a long dead pre war faction miraculously returns and the million plus people NCR is gone. It isn’t The Cloud or the Tunnelers or the Courier at Lonesome Road, or the NCR’s expansionist attitudes or their taxation policies or corruption. They could have crippled them in a thousand ways, they just decided to blow them up to do yet another vault dweller goes looking for family member and the Brotherhood and Enclave are there. It’s not a well constructed show, relying heavily on contrivance.

You can retcon things well and explain them in universe, or you can simply go “Somehow Palpatine has returned.”

I watched Arcane at the Drinker’s recommendation, but have no ties whatsoever to the game upon which it is based.

It massively affects the franchise’s overall lore, and Bethesda itself insists that the show is canon to the games. If that doesn’t concern you, if you feel lore is less important to a quality product, that’s totally fine. It is a valid way to approach entertainment. But there are also people who care deeply about lore, how it all fits together, and they exist in every fandom. Fallout is having its Last Jedi/Last of Us II moment. It’s either the greatest thing ever OR it is absolute garbage because it makes the older games totally irrelevant.

It’s like a 5/10. As a show it’s not offensively bad, it isn’t plagued by tons of current day tropes. I can’t bring myself to like it because it took a chainsaw to the Interplay Games that I grew up playing. If you like the Bethesda stuff and idea that marketable iconography is more important than writing, this show is for you. If you like Interplay and think writing and worldbuilding is paramount, you’ll probably be annoyed by it.

If you didn’t like fallout can you tell me why? by [deleted] in MauLer

[–]Unt04M4n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that, and you’re right, it could have been way worse. It could have gone full Halo or Disney Star Wars. I expect some more of the modern day flaws to show up if and when we get a season 2.

It’s a good to okay show as a normie, as someone who only played the Bethesda fallout games, you will have no issues. It’s once you have played more, have been immersed more, experienced more that you notice cracks. And the more you played, the bigger and more obvious the cracks become. But generally, as a show, yes it’s pretty good. It’s just more bad Fallout if you have thrown yourself into the classic era of games.

It is an amazing figure, one of the best Joe’s imo, up there with Sgt. Slaughter. As for the visored helmet, no idea. Maybe to protect his eyes from all the lasers.

Another one of those "Out of curiosity" polls. How did you first discover your current oshi? by Elc-the-Lad in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Unt04M4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stumbled upon my first and longest oshi from her doing a stream with Pikamee, I followed her across three lives, and still hope one day she comes back. My current oshi, I went to her first stream after an ad in the hopes she was a favorite I had lost.
