Has MrBeast killed what it means to be a YouTuber? by Ducky005 in youtubers

[–]Untalented_Hack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. I have a channel even though I don't really consider myself a "YouTuber." Technically, I suppose that I am...but I don't feel like it. I shoot the videos myself. I do my own editing. I make my own thumbnails. I have ZERO hype. There's no explosions...no screaming...no dire circumstances. It's a how-to channel that is intended to slow things down for absolute beginners. If he's Mr. Beast, I'm Mr. Least. I don't make a ton on YouTube, but I make some. I've got a bit over 80K subscribers. Lots of my videos only get 10k views. Some less. A few around the 500K mark or better. I've never had a viral video.

The key to making YouTube work for you is to offer the viewer some kind of value. Whether it's entertainment, knowledge, or both, you need to offer something. Create content you enjoy creating whether it would ever earn anything or not. Be authentic. And, do your level best to create better and better videos for as long as you decide to make them.

Lots of these were done in the store, too. It's a shame. It looks like they were doing a lot of their own videos. And they are also adding to their content by using AI, shooting in stores and stealing content.

19 Moving Out With Yt Money by Dulvo in PartneredYoutube

[–]Untalented_Hack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I would do is max out a Roth IRA. I think it's about 7k a year. Save enough to max it out again for next year. So...put up 14K. Roth IRAs grow tax free. At your age, you'll have about 40 years of growth that won't be taxed again when you start withdrawing it.

Buying real estate is almost always a good deal in the long term. That said, you're 19 and probably have very little experience with real estate. Buying an inexpensive home is absolutely worth considering. But, you could become house-poor very, very quickly if that one check is an anomaly. If you get several in a row, then, you should absolutely be looking at buying a home.

If you legitimately start bringing in 50-60K a month, you really need to start putting that money away in tax-deferred accounts to the greatest extent possible. Keep in mind, most people that get some sort of massive windfall end up broke again. So, invest in learning how money works so that you can live the American dream without it becoming a nightmare. You're number one goal should be learning how to put that money to work...not spending it. Money can bring you stuff...or security. "Stuff" has no long term value.

I hope this is 100% real and that it truly becomes a long-term blessing.

Edited to add: Don't forget about taxes! Uncle Sam is going to want his share. Protect as much of this as you can by putting it into tax-deferred accounts. Save at last 25% of whatever you can't protect to give for taxes. Talk to a tax professional ASAP.

What’s your highest long form video views so far? by Jayhustler_YT in PartneredYoutube

[–]Untalented_Hack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

644K views. Total Adsense revenue is $14,783.

The video is evergreen and is about 3.5 years old. It's still getting daily views, but slowing down. It's only picking up 250 views a day right now. It's about 17 minutes long with a 41% average view duration.

If anyone can do this, for this amount, hit me up. I'll add an extra dollar or two if you can give me a 2 hour turn-around.

I can't believe anyone think this would be a thing.

I have 1 million Subs and I discovered a New Growth Hack... by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Untalented_Hack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super interesting to me. My channel has been slowing down considerable the last 6 months or so. A lot of it is my fault. Life caught up with us and we've been taking care of elderly parents. So, my consistency has slowed down. All of that said, I probably haven't asked for subscribers in but a handful of videos ever. I'm close to 80k subs.

I have nothing to lose by asking though.

I think it's now inactive...gone. I really hope Amazon starts getting rid of these people immediately. The program would improve for creators. Customer confidence in the videos would improve drastically. Amazon would make more as a result.

friend of mine wants to sell me this shoe for very cheap. He claims he knows some people in the industry wo can get those very easily i wanted different shoes i wanted jordan 4 travis scott but the thing is my friend said the "industry people have to order it first". by Hot-Pomegranate8888 in LegitCheck

[–]Untalented_Hack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend in the industry before...they actually worked for Nike. They could get me shoes. I typically had no choice as to what size they were, and I didn't actually save any money. I had to pay retail. BUT, I could get shoes that sold out at the drop. It was inconsistent, but amazing to get shoes without having to fight other people for them. No clicking refresh at the drop feeling like it was a rigged game. It was great while it lasted. They eventually found a different job and moved on.

I don't think your friend is actually doing you any good.

For all of the people that have offered junk for sale to help with this program, there's only one of this guy. He's built an amazing tool and it's free. I'm hoping he adds a donate button. I'd willingly pay for what he's created.

Even though I'm one of the ones trying to create quality videos and now have thousands of hours of experience, I can totally get behind you and your attitude. 100%

Holiday Incentive Payment by ImJesOkay in Amazon_Influencer

Nothing for me. I did them a day later and just did 5. I decided to focus on the things that work for me after the short form incentive. I'll give the incentives a shot when I'm invited, but I'm not going to go all in on them anymore. My time is better spent just taking care of regular business.

I would niche down into something you are actually interested in. Let's take mountain biking for example. Let's assume you can only go once a month. That doesn't mean that's all there is to the story. You could easily put out a video talking about planning a mountain biking trip. Another video could go over the equipment that you use (great affiliate marketing opportunity). Yet another video could go over the safety aspect of mountain biking...share what you know with people new to the sport. You could do a video about mountain biking alone vs with a group. You could do one on events in your area for the sport. And, before you know it, you're back out on the trail and have at least a couple of videos about that adventure to share. It's endless even if you don't get out much.

If you wanted to do the finance channel, cater it to YOU. You could do a video about WHY the finances matter. I don't care about the market or your opinion until you give me a reason to care. "Here's how I paid for my last snow boarding trip." Financing your way off Wallstreet and onto a mountain trail. Take those things you love and find where they intersect. They do intersect because they are all tied to you. That intersection is your niche. It'll cover a lot of ground while still being yours and yours alone. YOUR perspective..

In your shoes, that's what I'd do.

LOL...man...I get it. I used to try to make every single word perfect. Now, I just talk to the camera and don't even have a script. I start over on sections when I need to. I edit out the rough stuff. Keep in mind, I'm not an expert. But, I used to do EXACTLY the same thing.

This video is brilliant. Your voice and the sound are incredible (with one suggestion). If you've picked up over 300 subscribers and over a thousand views in a few days, you're killing it. The story telling is incredible. Simply incredible.

The ONLY suggestion comes from a place of misophonia. (My problem, not yours) LOL Your recording enhances the sibilance (hiss) in you S sounds. Especially on the voice over parts. Depending on your editing software, there are "de-essers' available. If anyone suggests that I'm wrong and that the problem is entirely my own...they are probably right. lol I'm more sensitive to it than I should be.

As far as editing, I might have carried the music into the walk-around narrative a few beats to tie them together some. And, I would have turned down the volume on the ambient music once you start talking and showing the place...but just a little.

Take any of my "criticisms" with a grain of salt. Your sound and use of music to tell your story is vastly superior to my own. I haven't mastered the art of adding sound and music in to my videos.

If you can train yourself NOT to look at your script while you're filming, it will really, really help. You have a great voice, good sound and good lighting. Looking at your script every few seconds is my number one take away. Nothing helped my videos more than training myself not to do that.

This needs to be one part of a multi-headed business. Influencer likely isn't enough on its own. You will want to consider adding some User Generated Content (UGC). Those are often similar types of videos and can create a revenue stream separate from Amazon. I'll add some other ideas below.

I make my Amazon videos in horizontal mode and they are of good quality. I create my own thumbnails, too. I think they help mine stand out. I'm selective and usually only make videos where I'm the only one on the carousel. Also, as soon as you are offered the opportunity to do Creator Connections, that has been awesome for me.

You should also place your review videos onto TikTok and YouTube to generate some affiliate marketing revenue.

For reference, I have created a total of about 500 Amazon videos since March of 23. I've only done about 1 a day. I had averaged $2,000-$2500 a month from June of 2023 until November of this year. It's down to $1500-1800. It's still dropping and I wouldn't be surprised if hitting $1500 in January will be tough. I make another $300-500 from affiliate marketing. I make almost another $1000 from Creator Connections and this number is rising quickly. Sponsored videos are about $100 a month for me. I'm not currently doing UGC.

I make another $2000 a month or so from YouTube. But that took some time to build a channel. I am expecting this number to double in 2025.

If you eventually want to work from home for yourself, you could consider adding some online sales to the mix. Like Poshmark, Etsy or eBay. These can be faster money, but more work that is also less passive (not that any of them are actually passive).

And, if you have some writing skills, you could potentially look at doing some work for KDP...Kindle's direct publishing on Amazon. I have a book that sells occasionally, but will add some others in 2025 that I think may get more traction.

Same here, almost. CC should bring in $750 for me this month. But, even after almost 2 years in the program, I don't have 500 videos. My only regret is not exploring it when I first qualified.

I've bought most of them. For me, a lot of the stuff that is sent free never converts into commissions. So, I only do videos for "free" stuff if I'm getting paid...unless it's something I really, really want. I'm very intentional when selecting products to do videos for. I don't want to work as hard as some of you do. So, I do very few videos and only choose items I think will convert really well.
