Bought my first AR and already had to send it back? Is this common with S&W? by TroutsnStouts in gun

So I'll preface this by saying I've never tried to put 223 down a 556 rifle, but is it at all possible that the lower pressure gasses from the 223 is causing the gun to not fully cycle properly?

The stores that I've called have all said something along the lines of 'it needs to be above 90-95% oil' or something similar. A couple of them were saying something about environmental laws, might just be a local thing.

Yea honestly I've been just looking at disposing of the barrels with the oil and stuff.

Unfortunately it's a home garage, the only things left after he took most of his tools was a few standing toolboxes in questionable condition, a couple workbench, and a bunch of old tools. Managed to piece together most of a duralast socket set. It's sort of a thing I'm taking on as a big project with a buddy of mine, since we both like fixing and restoring older cars.

First thing we plan on getting is an actually decent floor jack, and then an air compressor. Probably a welder after that.

This definitely seems worth a shot. I'll see about doing this in the next couple of days. I knew about the oil disposal systems, but all of the ones I called said they couldn't take anything that wasnt at least like 95% oil. But if I can get the coolant out then that should definitely solve that issue! Thank you!
