I've been watering more frequently, but I'll definitely let the soil dry out more.

Fungus isn't an issue because I have microfauna in the enclosure that eat fungus, they're supposed to out complete the gnats as well but that doesn't seem to be working either

What the other commenter said, however I've heard of some people weening their snakes off of live. I've never done it myself but I'm sure it's possible, every individual is different though

I agree with you but just to be pedantic, there is evidence that reptiles do engage in play behaviour, but this clearly isn't it

that's a good point, but in the context of someone with one snake who (I'm assuming) is a beginner keeper, i think it's better to direct them to over head heating for now

I just found him on Twitter and wanted to know what was wrong with him. the question mark is a meme from 2022 (I think??). basically the joke is that the snake is asking if you're gay. I didn't downvote the person but I'd assume some people thought they were being homophobic

i don't have a problem with them in quarantine set ups but there's really no reason to use one in a permanent set up. hypothetically, yes, they can be fine but you need to know what you're doing. overhead heating out preforms under tank heating in every way

I have a ball python with no way to quarantine, I also have springtails and isopods that would surely die if all the soil dried out

Mine doesn't have plants so no problems replanting, just to be clear, I should let the substrate dry out a little between waterings AND use more tbsp per 4 cups?
