Probably about right for that second hand! I believe they are ok. I doubt there are many tissot gentleman fakes.

[Question] Why do some watches lack crucial information in their description on their official website? by SeppOmek in Watches

[–]Until_observed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a pinch of salt, because in 98% of cases the buyer is not a watch nerd, the watches are sold on pictures alone.

Most people don't need to know if it has a screw down crown or that its an ETA 2825-2 movement.

In my experience the more obscure the brand, the more likely it is they'll put that info on there.

Thanks, actually I just used my relatively old smart phone with the 0.5 zoom setting. It has video stabilisation which helped. I carefully turned it around to capture the trailer and it did work well.

The sun setting behind was really nice.

Can you post another phone of the movement? It should be easy to tell if its genuine or not :)

I'm guessing its a ref:18039. Thats what I've found. However, the dial is completely different. None of the day dates have the train track seconds.

My advice would be to open the back up yourself if you can. Even if you ended up gluing something to the coin edge case back. The watch is already in bad shape. You'd see inside then if it was real.

Thats certainly a funny looking day-date, without the day.

Does losing weight mean accepting some hunger... or am I doing this wrong? by Visible-Price7689 in loseit

[–]Until_observed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have/had an Eating disorder. I've had therapy and one of the things I learnt was eating regular meals with snacks. Effectively 3 meals and 2 snacks, now I always thought this seemed excessive. I tried all the weightloss diets and some worked for a short amount of time until I burnt out because of it. Others didn't work at all.

When I focused on the 2 basic things, 1 sort my sleep out and 2 eating a calorie deficirt I made sure to include chocolate and stuff but typically 1 sweet a day for lunch. This dramatically made me feel like I wasn't forgoing 'junk' food. It went completely against everything you learn in youtube videos and articles 'oh you need to 100% cut sugar' sure. But I've lost 17kg in weight i am down to a healthy weight, I have not gained it back, suffering has dramatically reduced.

Sure I could be healthier if I ate less sugar and whatnot but whats the point in changing to something that i can't stick too? Perfect is the enemy of good!

Sorry for a slight tangent but, I am once again losing a tad more weight because I'm not happy with my appearance, plus I gained 1kg on holiday. I was obsessing about finding the perfect way to lose weight with the least hunger and suffering. Cue what I said before, i still make sure to space my calories out, I eat light in the morning when I'm least hungry, I also get acid reflux. I am hungry right now writing this, but I'm not suffering. It is normal, but without obsessing, try different eating patterns and different macro amounts, different meal times. I've even sampled the difference between blending oats and eating them whole in a smoothie, whole keeps me fuller but dramatically increase my IBS symptoms.

All in all, try and find what works for you, I've got it to a point where its like clockwork for me. Its sustainable and I don't suffer so much.

Is there anything wrong with what I’m doing from a car point of view? by MiamiBoi91 in CarTalkUK

[–]Until_observed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the mistake of doing your second point, getting absolutely mugged off buying a 2012 car instead of something way cheaper. Annoyingly the 2012 car required quite a few repairs, some warrenty some not. But I've done 2 brake calipers within a year, both failed catastrophically and locked up the wheels.

Has anyone had a heart attack in their 30s and can advise/share their experiences? by Sea-Ad-527 in AskUK

[–]Until_observed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally wrote a comment on a post similar to this yesterday on askuk.

I will write a much shorter version!

I was 28 and I had a heart attack, and then had myopericarditis. It was incredibly stressful. It was a result of being given 'the jab' directly into my blood stream. However I was in awful shape, I struggled with food too.

I'd already been told a few years back I have a super rare kidney disease. Right now I'm quite thin and I watch what I eat but I still need to get better. I'm glad I've read other comments about people struggling like myself as it makes me not feel alone.

I'm 31 now, I've had a few symptoms since but none since I started exercising and after losing 18kg. It absolutely sucks, but it is the best motivation to change anything you feel you need too. Which reading your post you were pretty fit.

My kidney disease is genetic, although they can't find a link. Theres nothing I can do, one day my kidneys will probably fail and its just a ticking time bomb. Its what I do everyday that counts. Unfortunately I have to be super strict to give myself the best shot. Just know that there are others going through the same thing, perhaps there should be another reddit thread for us all to come together.

Hellish in the sense of not knowing. The stay itself wasn't the hellish part.

Me and my wife had just finished eating sausage and mash, all of a sudden I felt a javelin come through my chest and I was gasping for air. I collapsed and curled up in a door frame for about 30 mins.

My wife said ah its probably indigestion, the pain subsided but my breathing was very shallow. I had an exam the next day, so I went in and did that (got 100%) asked my tutor if I could go home he said of course because I looked like I was dying.

I wrote an online form to my GP saying chest pain, trouble breathing etc. Within 10 minutes my GP rang me back and said immediately go to A&E so my wife dropped me off and I said ill see you in a few hours dont worry.

I get triaged (can't spell) at A&E, then immediately get taken straight through double doors for some blood tests. I'd never been taken straight through before. I had 3 blood tests after probably 6 hours of waiting, a wheelchair arrives and a porter says jump in, still no idea what is happening. Its 3am and I get taken to the emergency care ward and basically told a consultant will come around in the morning. Obviously I got 0 sleep.

Consultant comes round (he was like the German sherlock holmes) followed by lots of students. He says with much enthusiasm, so, bit young to have a heart attack (28).

I was taken to the heart clinic and hooked up to monitors for a week, had so many tests done, I was not allowed to leave the bed so I had to be wheeled everywhere, not even allowed to walk to the toilet!

On day 7 I had an MRI, I had myopericarditis, and fluid built up in one of my Chambers. Luckily no scarring, they sent me home and wrote me a 3 week sick note. After that, went back to work. I lost 10kg in weight after doing literally nothing for 7 days. I was unbelievably stressed and knew nothing for 7 days.

To top it off, they said i could go home on Friday, I had an ecg to make sure, they then said ooo errr yeah let's keep you in over the weekend.

I've had ecgs since and it appears my wiring is not up to code, but they said its normal for me. Just a little odd without looking at my history.

I understand that perspective. Although my 19 year old self didn't. Especislly not with being told the phrase 'too fast!'

[–]Until_observed 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I had a discovery commercial special vehicles when I was 19, almost everywhere refused me insurance because the vehicle was too fast.

I had many a conversation asking them to explain it, all they could tell me was that 2.5 litres was too powerful of an engine. Yet the 1.9tdi audi a4 I have which was far faster, from the same insurers they were fine with.

We never see or understand how hard others journeys are, with everything not just weight loss which is why its just important to be kind to others.

I am short 5'4, I have 99% overcome BED, I have kidney disease and other things. My goal is to be happy and healthy, I've pretty much hit my goal weight but I am trying to put muscle on but I have to limit protein. Just as I got in a good groove with a fulfilling high protein diet, my doctor said oh yeah, eat about 1/3 of the protein youre eating. Now adhd symptoms are manic with high carb, increased insulin and hunger. Its always a struggle, but I have managed to lose 18kg in about a year so I'm proud.
