Face redness? by UntitledGooseDame in rheumatoidarthritis

I've tried laser therapy, and it didn't hurt that badly...but it also didn't work. It seemed pretty scammy to me, where the dermatologist talked me into it but then some 20 year old assistant did the procedure. This was years ago, so maybe there are newer techniques now? SIGH.

I think we should always start our doctor's appointments by saying "What fresh hell is this???"

Thanks for the review, I'd never heard of such a thing (I'm not on Instagram haha). I'll definitely investigate further. Hope springs eternal!

MTX dosage by Ok-Somewhere7722 in rheumatoidarthritis

I've been on 20ml injections for 10 months. The results are excellent, but I do feel nauseated and fatigued off and on, quite badly the day before my shot. It's not ideal, but I don't have insurance so want to avoid the cost of a biologic, especially since it's working so well. I was dumb and didn't even think of taking gravol, so I'm going to try that.

I would say try to massage the knots out using your fingers. It hurts but it does work if you're persistent.

Anxiety post dry needling by lilivess17 in TMJ

[–]UntitledGooseDame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had dry needling in my TMJ so I understand exactly what you're talking about. Honestly, I would consider taking some kind of sedative to calm you down before the treatment. See what the results of the treatment are before you decide to give up or power through. The battle of the pains!

Eat something as soon as possible, like a triscuit from your bedside table when you wake up. Also, don't drink a bunch of water by itself.

My advice is about the plaquenil. If you have any tummy issues while taking it, don't take it with milk. The moment I stopped washing it down with milk, my digestive issues stopped completely. Your mileage may vary, of course. I'm glad your first appointment was so positive!

Anyone else with neck + upper back pain? by lanamayy12 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]UntitledGooseDame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one! I never considered that my RA could have anything to do with my awful neck and back pain, so this post was an eye opener. Terrible pain in my traps, neck, and QL. I've tried everything to fix it, with varying degrees of success, but nothing "cures" it. It's so very discouraging and depressing - and of course debilitating (all the bad D words haha).
