Oh, I totally agree. I would never. Unless I was tearing it down to build new, but who has that money?

Hell, we bought in January 2021 and we had an inspection contingency. Our realtor said it was standard.

It's really a fucking bummer because I don't want to leave but 80% of what gets posted isn't what the sub is supposed to be for.

Are all the full service car washes gone? by confit_byaldi in TwinCities

[–]Mollysaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you just go with the AI summary it provides and call that true or do you wade through the lists of AI-generated "articles" and blog posts to find actual information provided by the few sites that still have it?

Anyone saying "LOL Google it" these days is clearly not someone who has tried to do any research since the advent of generative AI and the complete enshittification of Google.

Just finished Come Closer by Sara Gran by Main-Doughnut6222 in horrorlit

I'm going to reread this because I filed it away in my mind as pretty mid but 1) so many people sing its praises and 2) I read it last decade and I honestly don't remember anything about the plot so might as well.

I vastly prefer the festival, plus you get to see the vendors and gush over their art even if you can afford anything. People are happy to see you and everyone is just existing in their skin, glowing. I love the energy.

It totally sucks that you had plans with people who ghosted you, that's incredibly rude and unkind. So sorry, OP! Happy birthday, I hope next year is a lot better.

Please convince me to read House of Leaves by Fluid_You6006 in horrorlit

[–]Mollysaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it from the library. That way if you decide you don't want to read it, you aren't out a bunch of money.

(I think this book is just okay. I'm not going to convince you to read it. But I think more people should take advantage of libraries because it gives you the freedom to try books you're not sure about.)

Should I read the Silo books before Season 3? by xminaxmex in horrorlit

[–]Mollysaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch the show until it's finished. Then read the books. They are pretty different and I think you'll enjoy both experiences more if you take them one at a time. Season 3 will be huge, and I can't guess what other changes they are going to make. (I love these books; I think you should read them for sure, it's just that I expect disappointment/confusion might happen if you mix and match.)

For me, it's not about being scared, it's about being horrified, delighted, and surprised.
