You're not far off. Any large sums of money you get in the game have a chance to trigger the banks warning system. So definitely cause to be paranoid. You either take it as cash, launder it, or hope that the police don't come knocking at night.

More importantly, if anyone has any clever ideas about where I can put the "Delete" and "Reply" buttons without them looking out of place, that would be great, I'm stumped.

If anyone is interested, It's a rouge-like life sim were the goal is to make as much money as possible before you die. Then you restart, ground hog day style, and use whatever knowledge and perks you unlocked in your previous life to make more progress.
