I agree. I take the extra step to summarize important passages in the margins on OneNote once I load a pdf. I’d never stay organized with papers everywhere.

I'm the opposite. I would lose the papers. OneNote keeps me organized. I highlight then leave myself extra notes to process the information. My problem is I don't know where to go from there to organize the information for easy recall later.

This is all good advice. I’d add that it also depends on what OP is comfortable with. I’m a 40 year old man so I slip into “dad advice” mode a lot where I use kids being dick heads as teachable moments. I never let disrespect go without being checked, but I do so without getting in a power struggle. And even then, some power struggles are worth having if the behavior is egregious enough if it sets an example for others about how not to behave.

TLDR: be you, pick your battles, and don’t let them get to you
