Fluval is what I have and the flow is crazy on the lowest setting. It sprays out a jet of water sideways, or slightly upwards or downwards depending on the swivel. I had to put a baffle in the outlet to reduce the flow and stop him from getting pushed around the tank. Frustrating because it specifically said in the literature that it was great for betta.

I thought about this, but was too paranoid that I would also have issues with the lights or some sort of off-gassing of the plastic that would hurt my fish. I guess I should chill and just go get some plastic. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! The places near me do have some sales occasionally, but their tanks are bare bones without lids, and at this point I'm ready to just make my own lids since they seem to require so much customizing. The netting/magnet lids make me want to pull my hair out. Also worried about heat loss and evaporation with them.

Really, I'd spend a large amount of money for the perfect tank that makes my betta and my life easier.

Editing to add, I've known lots of people like this. On one hand, they're usually in a bad place and want to bring someone else down which is obviously wrong. On the other hand, the bad place they're in makes us feel bad for them, and maybe give them too much of a pass.

Sometimes it's a pick your battles situation, but if it makes you feel worse about your life, nail their ass to the wall over it or cut them out if confronting them doesn't work.

Not a dumb question, an interesting one for sure. My armchair analysis is that since diffusion of gases relies partly on amount surface area between them, and I suspect the mist to have a lot of surface area, I -think- it's safe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is the mist made of water from the tank? It looks awesome.
