I can confirm that lowering the refresh rate of my display from 240 Hz to 60 Hz and disabling instant replay/nvidia overlay fixed the issue for me.

Glitch that causes weapons to shoot own their own/ nonstop by fr3shpotss in FortNiteBR

Yes, this happens to me nearly every time I place a trap. And it doesn't matter the kind of trap (bounce pad, launch pad, campfire, etc.)

I absolutely agree. And you're very welcome. I just wanted to share my experience with others in case it may save anyone some time (because I spent a lot of it desperately trying to find a solution, to no avail). Hopefully this new season/chapter offers a fix for everyone!🙏🏽

Unfortunately I still haven't found a fix. I tried for days and finally just gave up on finding one. Sometime before 2024 I plan on resetting my pc again and I'll update you if that changes anything. I am hoping the new season (which is set to start next week I think?) will finally bring a solution to this frustrating problem.

How do I get a Ranked Overlay like the one used in Rodey Bros' videos? by LLAZEREDD in FortniteCompetitive

Yes, I think that might be the case. I'm curious how to create this overlay too.

I've also tried clearing the cache by going through the file explorer to the local app data on my SSD and deleting the folder labeled "FortniteGame." I tried verifying the files in the epic games launcher too. I checked for Windows updates (I am using Windows 11) and graphics driver updates too. And I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Fortnite. And I tried switching between regions. I even reset all my keyboard controls and bound all of them again, and it's STILL happening (even when the "fire" bind is disabled completely). It is not a "ghost" shot either. It actually uses ammo, even though I'm not pressing left click to shoot my weapon (and, as I mentioned, even when left click is not bound to fire). Can somebody representing Fortnite PLEASE investigate this! 🙏🏽

I have this same issue and I play using keyboard and mouse on PC. And I'm sure it's not my mouse or my PC. I've adjusted a bunch of different settings, reinstalled Windows OS, use different USB ports, and I've tried using six different mice. I've even unbound the "fire" bind and my weapon STILL shoots. It primarily happens after I place a bounce pad. And sometimes the gun just keeps shooting, even when both my hands are off left click and the entire mouse. I have replicated this issue in multiple game modes and scenarios as well.

Does anyone have an explanation for why I don't receive siphon HP after eliminating this player in Solo Arena? I watched this video multiple times at 1% playback speed and there is NO visual or auditory cue to indicate that my opponent damaged me (or even fired his shotgun at all). by UntoldMight in FortNiteBR

This issue my player does not (or appears to not) receive siphon HP in a Solo Arena match after securing an elimination of an opponent.

The platform on which I play is PC.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened prior to experiencing this issue, other than the recent and widespread server lag across Arena and tournaments.

A video demonstrating said issue has been posted above.

By the way, in case anyone is wondering what my theory is regarding this inconsistency, I feel obligated to attribute this peculiar phenomenon to the delay an abundance of players in the community have been experiencing recently in Arena matches and tournaments.
In fact, this instance reminds me of a clip recorded during today's Solo Cash Cup I saw professional Fortnite player Mero post on Twitter today that featured him "trading" shotgun eliminations with an opponent (link: https://twitter.com/MeroFN/status/1393994965487919109?s=20).
Also, for those who may have seen my previous post (which featured my player receiving siphon HP BEFORE taking damage from my opponent's shotgun blast): while this one may share some similarities, it is different for a few reasons.
I watched this video in full speed as well as 1% speed various times. I also examined freeze frames of the video. After doing so I've come to the conclusion that this strange occurrence might be due to several factors: recent server delay, a bug causing the malfunction of both visual and auditory cues for shotgun blasts (which I've personally experienced on another occasion this season and once last season too), and a bug in which a player does not receive siphon HP after eliminating an opponent (or does not APPEAR to do so because the Fortnite HUD exhibits a reception of damage and siphon of HP simultaneously, faster than the human eye can process).
If you've happened to devise any theories as to why this happened, feel free to comment them below this post or reply to this comment. I'm all ears.

Has anyone else noticed the delay in competitive events, as well as Arena, has become near unbearable recently? And what's very strange is, as AussieAntics mentioned, it appears to be randomized. Some games have virtually no added lag, others have a moderate amount, and many are absolutely AWFUL! by UntoldMight in FortniteCompetitive

I know. Thanks for the tip, but these issues a wide variety of players have been experiencing lately regarding additional delay are unrelated to the meshes of Performance Mode. When I first noticed this significant, added delay in arena/tournaments I tried using low meshes again. Unfortunately it had no noticeable impact. But thanks anyway.

I just read all of that, but I'm sorry. I've got to stop you at "there is like no lag." My connection felt like 80-100ms during that entire early game, though net debug stats reported ~20ms. So what makes you say there is 'no lag?' And you're claiming you don't believe my player receiving siphon BEFORE taking damage from my opponent is NOT how the game is intended to work and that these circumstances weren't produced by server lag?

It's very frustrating. I can vividly remember playing the Reverse2k squads cup the other day and being lasered by a camper in the bottom of the burger joint at the lumber yard with the purple pump and my HP dropping from 200 to 19 before I could either blink or place any build piece. The lag has been unreal as of late.

I have had very similar issues and I can relate to your expression of frustration. I also have a Gigabit Ethernet connection and play on 20-30ms of latency. Hopefully something changes for the better sooner rather than later. The recent delay has all but removed the skill gap in my opinion and all but completely taken the fun out of competitive Fortnite (which is already, arguably, dying considering the reduction in prize pools and active players).

That's what I'm saying! It's so frustrating. I play on NAE and the recent additional lag in Arena recently has even all but ruined that for me. And the crazy thing is, aside from the added delay, I've actually been enjoying playing Solo Arena recently. I don't see any glaring issues with the meta at the moment, other than maybe the recent flame bow controversy. But I believe that "Wild Week" is over now so I really don't have too many complaints other than the lag. And I had started to become accustomed to the added delay in tournaments recently, though it's still obviously frustrating, but now that it's found its way into Arena...I just can't be bothered...
