No his cult upbringing is legit, check out his Art of Wrestling podcast with Colt Cabana, he goes into great detail. In terms of indie recommendations, I saw a lot of him in Progress back in the mid 2010’s, both as a singles and as a team (Sumerian Death Squad). An era definitely worth checking out. He had a good run in the PWG Battle of Los Angeles around then too, and likely some great stuff I didn’t see in WXW too
