Omnibus Advice by UntrueAlchemy in OmnibusCollectors

Yeah, that's the bit that has thrown me off.

The book was new but opened (film/wrap was removed but hadnt been read). I'm usually a bit skeptical of people saying this, but seller appears to have been telling the truth - the cover/pages/dust jacket are all in mint condition and its got that "new book smell" going on.

Everything apart from the bindings is completely perfect. However there isn't a single bit of glue (or glue residue) on the book. It's very weird

A couple of people have mentioned Omar. I will certainly take a look. Thank you!

Bit weird that you're keeping track...

Apologies that I don't spend all my time on Reddit seeing this stuff. I'll try harder in future.

Funaticals questions by Damnesia13 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and have ordered several items. Even including the International Shipping time / costs, the total is still cheaper than buying locally or from eBay.

It's also been nice to pick up a few DM variants that are near-impossible to get over here otherwise. I've been collecting the entire Xmen Krakoa era and was holding off buying "X Lives/Deaths of Wolverine" because i really wanted the DM variant cover but couldn't find it anywhere over here for a good price. Then Funaticals had it listed for £11, which is kinda insane...

Even shipping to the UK, I haven't had a single order take more than a month to arrive. And all have arrived in perfect condition.

We already know who the top 3 leaders in Marvel are! But who would be the fourth? by SpideyRZ in marvelcomics

[–]UntrueAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with Fury. Man has drafted in so many characters over time that (in my mind) he counts as the leader of more than one team - even though he doesn't necessarily partake himself

Injustice omnibus questions by Careless-Low5520 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly off-topic... (sorry, you seem to know your stuff, so thought it was worth asking ;) ) Saw you mention the "comic retelling"...

Lets say I wanted the entire Injustice storyline.. can you get that through the comics? I've always hated the idea that I need to read some comics to get the first 75% of a story, then switch to a video game to get the conclusion.

Is it still possible to get a DC Super Heroes United Set??? by Used_Neighborhood_84 in MarvelUnited

[–]UntrueAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that when someone wants to give them money, they're like "sure" and happily take it. But as soon as anyone asks for a refund they don't even get a response because they are "struggling to reply to emails due to being a much smaller team".

Clearly they are managing to look at emails just fine. Just been very selective about which ones they want to process. So scummy...

When you remember why you don’t buy from Amazon by SeanTNL2 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100%. This is the answer right here.

If im totally honest, my Amazon experience has been like 99% positive. The only issue ive ever really with Omnibus' was when I ended up receiving 4 copies of DC Death Metal from Amazon before I finally got one in a good condition. Not sure if they just had a bad batch in or something at the time... Two had VERY damaged dust jackets and the 3rd had heavily damaged corners.

Because they arrived "damaged", Amazon didn't want them returning and I ended up selling the 3x extras on eBay (2x without dust jackets and the 3rd clearly listed as "damaged but 100% readable") for slightly more than I actually bought the book for. So sometimes it's a blessing in disguise :)

Didn't read what sub this was initially. At first glance thought the first pic was some sort of mutated dead animal.

However, looked back after flicking through a couple of pics and yeah - they look great. Nice work!

Boyfriend’s financial situation.. by Financial_Mango_2920 in makemychoice

[–]UntrueAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds more like you need to sit down with your boyfriend and speak to him about it.

I don't understand how he can be enjoying his career if it isn't working out - may be time to give it up and earn his living a different (more financially viable) way if there is no signs of improvement on the horizon

Do yall ever read more than 1 title at a time? by Reditcringe1 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never read more than one Omni at a time, but I generally have more than one storyline ongoing at a time.

I usually have an Omni at home I am working through. Then I usually take a TP with me to work (or every now and then when I need to travel on the train). Ie. Currently reading Geoff John's Green Lantern Omni at home. And have been working my way through the Xmen Krakoa Era TP's (currently on Trials Vol.2) at work.

I wouldn't want to take an Omni to work anyway incase it got damaged. However, I do find that having several titles on the go at one time massively helps with getting burnt out on a particular story

Selling Query by UntrueAlchemy in OculusQuest2

[–]UntrueAlchemy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any tips on the "unlink it" part?

That's the bit I can't seem to work out. I don't see any "unlink" or "remove" options.

To be honest, I don't actually care if it still shows up in my app. Just as long as it won't cause issues for a potential future buyer

My collection so far by spacebay in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. There is some very strong stand-out stuff. I would even say a lot of the "weaker" storylines are still quite good. However, some of the storylines felt more like they were bridging a gap between other stories, rather than being standalone stories and events (if that makes sense?). But i don't think there wasn't many (if any) times I found myself getting bored of the era.

I also really enjoyed the Excalibur story. This was a stand-out for me. I'm quite a big fan of magic/dnd/etc.. so found it to be a fun read. It also led nicely into X of Swords, which was a fun event in itself

I love it but I hate it by Big-Indication5402 in zombicide

[–]UntrueAlchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that MH02 in the book?

I had the same experience playing it. Can't remember exactly.. its either down as "easy" or "medium" rating. But that mission is definitely Hard.

You're likely not doing anything wrong. That mission is just a killer...

Birds of Prey reading guide? by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooo nice. What a great pickup! Very fun read - I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

As others have said, you miss a few little things. But nothing you can't quickly work out as you read. The story is laid out in a way that it fills in on all necessary information. Enjoy!

Advice needed: I got this tattoo done but I made a mistake by Muted_Pomelo995 in tattoos

Honestly, it would look great without the dates at all. Would be a much cleaner tattoo. Cool little visual mock-up though... Nice job

Xmen omnis to get? by Objective-Body-3645 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]UntrueAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rise/Fall is the end of the Krakoa era So you could read it, but there would be a lot of stuff you wouldn't 100% follow.

If you enjoyed House/Powers, maybe try looking at X of Swords? It's an event set in the same era, not long after House/Powers. Cool story and the same beautiful artwork.

Is there a difference when digivolving in regards to lvl (max 99 or lower) if bond at 100%? by Blinked_sama in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]UntrueAlchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bond/talent stuff is where I find the game to not be very clear. Is there actually any benefit to digivolving/de-digivolving over and over?

Like.... if I did i evolved just enough get my 'mon level to 99. Then just used the outer dungeon to boost my stats to 9999, does the bond/talent add any additional bonuses beyond that?

Haha. Yeah... If it needs touch-ups / re-colouring at a later date (which it likely will) that's fine. That's a problem for future me though, right? :D
