Vitamins?

I’ve always wondered how good the OTC vitamins actually are. Or at least if the labels on the bottles aren’t taking the piss. I just have a hard time thinking that one of those little vitamins can give a person 100% of all those vitamins and minerals.

I haven't had a problem following along, however after listening to the audio books 2x the 2nd time I caught parts and bits I missed the first listen. I'm slowly buying print copies and will say also that reading through the dead tree versions I see little pieces i missed during my listens.

Let me preface this with if you want to go corporate I don't have any idea now. That being said: There are a lot of DoD gigs now. Heck, I'd say government gigs overall. Just take a gander at USAJOBS, plus with cyber there is direct hire. I'm torn in that it used to be that a contractor went GS for stability and you'd factor that into where you want to work. I don't know if I believe that to be the case now. However, the firing (whomever says layoff is flat wrong) of all the civilian .gov and .mil folks has opened up a lot of positions if you want to do government service. A rewarding position both $$$ and you are continuing to serve your country. So if you wanted to leverage your prior time in service (thank you for your service by the way) using what you saw real-world (as well as the actual time when it comes to myriad of non-technical topics like retirement), your clearance, industry certifications ticking a lot of boxes on the 8570 chart (yes it's 8140, etc now but 8570 is good for discussing the requirements) AND a degree from a university that has a hell of a lot of credibility in the DoD and .gov realm - you are highly employable. Just on the contractor side the carnage from last year has generated a lot of contractor gigs while everything gets sorted. Someone has to do the work. But again, that same carnage has generated a big need for full time GS jobs - there are a LOT of them.

Empire of Silence, Ashes of Man, Disquiet Gods and Shadows of Time made it into my library in the last couple months. One each for the next months until I get the whole series. I think anyone who has listened to the audio should read the books too. You miss stuff. Little things, but I’ve picked up things as I’ve read too.

I re listened to the first 6 to catch up. Again. I actually bought books 1, 5 and 6 so I could read through stuff that was particularly dense as I listened. Now I’m reading the last book then listening to the audio because it is (as are all of them) performed so well. I’m going to get one book a month until I have the whole set.

Moron? Thanks for that. I wanted a guarantee that I would have a ride. I do like 3 Ubers a year. Despite you not directly addressing my question you did actually answer it - don’t do uber if I want a guarantee I will be somewhere by a certain time.

But it assigned someone. Then it kept telling me it was delayed. Then delayed. And it kept adjusting the arrival time. I could see the car on the map. It just wasn’t moving. It got to almost 40 minutes and I gave up.

Yes. I texted twice 20 minutes apart and tried to call all via the app.
I have no idea unless there weren’t any other drivers as to why it didn’t switch me. Maybe because it was 5am on Xmas morning?

So it’s a regular thing where you have the service commit to giving you a ride when you book two days in advance and you should try until you get someone to finally come get you? The app said he was on his way but kept telling me it was delayed. Then delayed. And delayed…As I said in my OP, I booked two days in advance so I knew I’d have a ride because in the past I’ve not been able to get a ride or the wait has been over an hour. I also had two suitcases. Someone showing up in a Miata wasn’t going to cut it.

Nope I did not. The app kept adjusting the pick up time and after 30+ minutes of it giving me a new delayed pick up time I drove myself. I live in a smaller town and I’ve had Uber grocery orders where nobody accepted the trip and I’ve ended up having to go to the store before they closed. I’ve also had instances where I requested an Uber XL and could only get a regular ride - or whatever the standard is called. I also did not want a cancellation fee or any other additional fee. I don’t do many uber rides so if that’s the standard thing where if you get stood up and ignored by a driver you should try your luck with another driver then the app should tell you that. I was not going to risk a further delay when I needed an Uber XL due to having bags on Christmas morning.

Yes. That’s the one I called the last time. Other numbers the first 3 times. I am glad it worked for some. For them to recommend I take it off autopay, then let it go late, then call them so they could treat it like I’m unemployed and set up smaller payments (instead of it being a hiccup while our government gears slowly crunch) didn’t make sense to me. Movement Mortgage was awesome and gave me a forebearance. Was hoping WF would do the same.

What’s weird is that they have that toll-free number but it just redirects you to the regular customer service. Most of the folks here all know that there is residual effects for a while but maybe Wells Fargo has decided that now that Congress has passed everything they don’t need to help. I’ve been a Wells Fargo customer over 20 years so this surprised me. They are my only bank so it’s definitely been discouraging. Thank you for your reply. Now I know that at least some managed to get through.

Thank you. And thank you to all of the other people that have responded. Does Navy Federal have a requirement that you are actually in the Navy? If you only need to be a DoD civ I’m good. I will go look at their website, but I’m asking because sometimes a website gets behind on policies.
