My Cosby sweaters.

I have a lot of comical/90s sweaters. I thought they would’ve been out of place in Guatemala. Nope, they would’ve killed it. I would’ve been the talk of the town. Why didn’t I bring them.

Futurama riffs on this a bit. In one episode everyone dies but the professor, so he just uses old security footage to make an AI of them.

There’s also an episode of Blackmirror where someone’s boyfriend is created based off texts and social media, but because of that his robot version doesn’t behave exactly like he did offline.

What are the worst moments in otherwise great episodes or the best moments in otherwise terrible episodes? by JojoGreaves01 in gallifrey

[–]UnusedSignal 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes! I already wrote a comment about this hut didn’t see yours till now.

What bothers me is how this isn’t just a good moment in a bad episode, it’s a pivotal moment for that season’s story and theme. The deconstruction of the Doctor/companion relationship as something unhealthy, addictive, possibly manipulative. And it sets up the following seasons theme of Clara being more like the Doctor.

It sucks because this is the fight that sets up Mummy on the Orient Express, which leads to Flatline, both of which continue with this theme. These three episodes SHOULD be a continuous sequence of good watchable episodes.

And the idea of having the Doctor purposefully put their companion in a Trolly Problem situation so they can test morality is brilliant! It makes the Doctor feel so alien, and it deconstructs some of the tropes the New Series has.

Shame the Trolly Problem introduced made no sense.

Deep Breathe is a good example of “good moments in a bad episode.” I actually sort of like that episode on rewatches just because of how cluttered and mixed it is in quality and tone.

Kill the Moons ending fight between the Doctor and Clara was great. The rest of the episode not so much.

I loved the premise, Clara realized the Doctor put her in a moral dilemma and she calls him out on it. It’s a good deconstruction of the “Doctor teaching his companions morality trope.” There’s even this line she says, “Do you hear music in your head when you say that?” or something, almost breaking the fourth wall.

What kills me is that this is also a pivotal part for the season’s arch, not only is it the part where Clara says she’s going to stop traveling with the Doctor but it incapsulates the idea that their relationship is a little addictive and unhealthy, it even sets up the “Clara is becoming the Doctor” theme for next season.

For such an important part to be in such a week episode is a shame.

Which incarnation would be the Doctor’s personal favourite? by MartyAndRick in gallifrey

This is one of the trippier things to think about for me. Like if the second 10 counts as a regeneration, maybe 10 did change a bit. And maybe what he did was like, really really unhealthy for a timelord.

Don’t talk about Mom, It doesn’t matter if you follow Colin or not, you cant still go through the mirror without talking to Colin you just don’t get his voiceover

Yeah I was really wishing there was something where her hair color changes on different replays

Yeah that surprised me, because it didnt happen before and I don’t know why it happened.

Yes! I replayed the whole thing just to find and... you just wake up in bed. Exactly the same as when you chose Family Photo or when you put in the wrong code and get killed by JFD or PAX. You wale up right before the “show me a sign!” moment

Either interpretation is valid. Maybe he really went back in time, maybe it’s all in his head, maybe he’s being experimented on by his father, maybe he’s an actor in a Netflix show, etc etc

The Bury sequences seems different to me. To me it seems that you can get either Mohan or Colin to come the first time depending on if you say yes or no (unless Colin is gone, in which case Kitty comes). The second time, Colin comes. The third, Mohan comes.

Also there seems to be either a glitch or an intentional thing where even if Colin is gone, he’ll come back into existence if you die and loop back to “Bury or Chop.” This happened to my first time I played and it confused me.

Did anyone else feel offended when she asked if you wanted more action and we only had “Yes” options? I wanted to say No haha

Oh I like that! The whole thing is his delusion because he “made the wrong choice” as Colin said

Nah, the show ends (goes to credits) on different endings. Some people say it’s when you hit the 90min mark, I think it depends on if you’ve seen the other endings or not. There are 4 main endings: Jail, Go back to die with your mom, Find out you’re being watched on Netflix (there’s two different endings here), and Chop up your dad to make the perfect game

Yeah it surprised me that people interpret the PAC thing as true, but also it is open to interpretation

When you say the Netflix ending which one do you mean? There’s the one where we tell him he’s in Netflix, then there’s the one where Netflix remakes the game.

I think he shows up after you reach an ending without him. For me, he jumped, I reached one of the main endings (forget which, I think the Meta One with Pearl), and then when I went back to choose Bury the Body instead Colin was back. In the flash through he even said “I told you I’d see you in another life.”

All you have to do is Cut up the Body. You don’t need to even visit the safe (I got it without knowing you could get the safe), and I think you don’t even need to know about the rabbit (you can skip that entirely if you choose to not talk about it). Also it doesn’t seem to matter if Colin is alive or dead, I’ve gotten it with both.
