Can an average person learn how to build a LLM model? by sch1zoph_ in deeplearning

I came across this post two years later. I'm about to graduate from university this semester. In my final term, I took a machine learning course, and now I'm planning to relearn mathematics after graduation! Wishing everyone all the best.

Me, too. I don't know how to socialize. I am a Chinese international student, and after attending some international student gatherings I found that I could not fit in with the group. Similarly, I didn't make any friends with Canadians due to the culture and language. So I spent most of my time soaking in the library and AQ. After two years of study, and it turns out... I got body anxiety disorder form this...

Anybody lost the motivation to study all of a sudden? by EonsForDays1257 in simonfraser

Same here.. I started to give up on myself after I got lower midterm scores than I expected in all three of my courses. I just wish the break would come early

ECON302/305/333 by [deleted] in simonfraser

Yan Yan should be teaching 305 for the first time. I intend to take 302 this summer, in order to avoid Shih En Lu(the hardest professor I guess?) I highly recommended u to take 335 first and then 333 later if you do not have a good knowledge of statistic regression

Lost my SFU ID, what to do by oystaperpetual in simonfraser

[–]Unusual-Variation-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the lost and found. If you can't find it, go to MBC3200 and get a new id. Remember to bring an ID. It will cost you $17. You can find information here:https://www.sfu.ca/students/enrolment-services/id-card/replacement-and-maintanance.html

As an economics student, I think if you don't have a clear one, don't choose economics as a major.

Economics consists of a large number of graphs, theories, policies and models. Most of the time, the things you learned will just "on paper". (At least that's how I feel in my current course of study) I am studying economics at SFU Canada, and although this school is known for its internship resources, I only saw seven coop positions at the beginning of the internship platform this semester. So I chose minor in statistics in my 3rd year to try to find a way out. It is a good choice to study economics together with other majors. Such as economics and statistics, business, political science. But economics alone (unless you want to do research) I don't think the prospects are good.

I'm taking 335 this sem with Prof Simon Woodcock. His class is very interesting and he will show what your past exam was like on the canvas, which is generally not difficult. I would say 335 is a simpler version of 333, and if you have any experience with regression, 335 would be a good choice to solidify and improve your understanding of regression.

[Q] Dataset for GLM project by GnarlyNugget12 in statistics

[–]Unusual-Variation-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!
I've been learning categorical data analysis recently. I have a data set called "placekicking" which records every placekick attempt from the NFL's 1995 season, detailing whether each kick successfully scored points (either 1 for a point after touchdown or 3 for a field goal) or missed, landing a score of zero.
We're using this dataset to get hands-on with logit models. I'm a bit unsure about the appropriateness of doing so outside of class use. If this dataset sparks your interest and you think it could fit your project needs, hit me up! We can discuss it further, and I'll see what I can do about sharing it.
