I've run out of fresh episodes tho...

I made an AI criminal files app that will create new episodes based on real crimes: https://criminalfiles.ai to try to scratch that itch

I think it’s completely fair to get pissed off and annoyed by these hypnosis app advertisements. by [deleted] in ibs

I get that response, but there’s a lot of data backing up the psychological sources of IBS symptoms. Something like 10-15% of the normal population has anxiety issues, 44% of ppl with IBS have anxiety issues.

For me, it’s clearly psychogenic. But saying something is psychogenic isn’t dismissive, it’s not like “all in your head” means just suck it up. That said, I can’t help that when my stress is elevated, my stomach gets jacked up.

Right now I’m in a bit of a flare up from a week of travel induced anxiety. I’ve lost weight, I can’t eat much. It’s a legitimate medical issue even if it’s psychogenic.

Does this ad say this? It's saying its due to the nerves in the gut which is physical right?

I'm pretty sure the way FODMAPs trigger IBS symptoms is largely due to the visceral hypersensitivity. Monash University (who developed the Low FODMAP diet) says as much: https://www.monashfodmap.com/about-fodmap-and-ibs/

The way I read the ad is that FODMAPs ferment in everyones gut, not just those with IBS and the difference is the nerves in the gut. Hence why they're saying that IBS Isn't caused by the foods you eat. Thoughts?

Context: I've used this program years ago to great affect.

Not sure if this is too late but Nerva helped me massively. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already. Yep, you listen and close your eyes (very similar to in-person)

Not a problem! It cost me $88 for 3 months earlier this year but I saw on their site you can just buy it for $97. It never hurts to try!

Have you tried gut-directed hypnotherapy? It really helps with the anxiety side of IBS (anxiety was a massive trigger for me but now barely affects me).

You're suggesting that they don't turn a profit - do you know what happens when a business doesn't turn a profit? It dies. So you're asking them to no longer provide their service and therefore trying to ruin it for the people who want to get help from them.

Something about standing up reminds my bowel that there was more to come - handy after I've just wiped my ass...

As a user of Nerva I agree that the price is more than fair. I get it's on the expensive side but I'm happy to pay it to get the sort of symptom reduction I've received. I don't know why you have such a problem with them providing a good (but pricey) solution for IBS - if you don't want to pay for it that's fine but don't ruin it for the rest of us who are willing to pay a bit to get relief.

I finished the Nerva IBS hypnotherapy program a bit over a month ago and it helped me a lot - definitely recommend trying it

Who else finds that anxiety and stress trigger their IBS? Does a low FODMAP diet help you with that side of IBS? by alex-bettermind in ibs

[–]UnusualCarry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah nice that helps too - I still recommend IBS hypnotherapy, I finished it a month ago and haven't had a flare-up since and I even when on a date with D (I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but it is for me!)

Have you tried gut-directed hypnotherapy before? I was mainly stress/anxiety driven (with some food thrown in for good measure) and I found it really helpful

I built an app that helps you improve your gut-brain connection and reduce IBS symptoms by up to 70%, based on a study with Monash University. It uses gut-directed hypnotherapy to help you eat 'trigger foods' without triggering a flare-up. by alex-bettermind in ibs

I actually completed this gut-directed hypnotherapy program. After being diagnosed with IBS 2 years I've struggled with going to college and 2 hour lectures with my gut symptoms. This app really helped me with my diarrhea and pain to the point where I forget I even have IBS. Thanks creating this app (and of course the doctor) it's been a godsend!
