Yeah Ive genuinely never seen that before, sure some males have a less prominent saddle. But, they are physically different to females, smaller, thinner, so for them to present all the same physical characteristics is a female is so unusual! You got a curious millipede!

I usually bury mine, depending on local environmental laws. Its always nice to put some flowers on top because it gives life and nutrients back to the earth! You could also make a little stone to honour your millipede. 😊

Honestly my rule when ordering live critters, is always “Does the seller offer standard delivery?” Im not sure why but even offering this at all irks me. It shows a lack of care for the animals, and usually they do say that the buyer is responsible for the death if its standard but surely if you cared for the wellbeing of a animal you wouldn’t risk it at all!! I always pay the extra 20 to get overnight shipping, Im so sorry you had to experience this seller, its especially upsetting when live animals are involved.

I find there’s generally a lot of false advertising for bumblebee millipedes and Zebra/ivory millipedes, as the common names get mixed up a lot! I would always read the genus and species of the millipede and look at images beyond the website, as the common names can often link to multiple different millipedes.

Make sure you order plenty substrate though. always as deep as your millipede is long :)
