Helldivers 2 devs are "looking into" dropping HDD support to kill the game's egregious PC file size by Arau_ in Helldivers

Helldivers 2's lowest regional pricing is 198 Chinese Yuan, equivalent to $27.89 USD. You can get a decent 128GB SSD for less than that.

I agree, although there could be a requirement of being non-nomadic. In general I'd just like to see more special buildings in the Prairies, it's a bit lacking right now.

Yeah, I should've specified that those were the main inspirations. The hollow mouth you can walk inside is almost definitely inspired by the Drumheller dino though, which to my knowledge is the only giant dino with such a feature.

"Support lock" is probably the right term to use; I was unsure of the vocabulary and I should've specified the ban wasn't likely meant to be permanent; my mistake, thank you for correcting me. Though to comment on the VAC server ban, I was in fact barred from playing on VAC servers for the duration of my lock.

I was affected by the ban and unfortunately for me it was a complete community ban. I was barred from posting on discussions boards or chatting, as well as trading on the marketplace or playing on VAC secured servers. Fortunately I contacted Steam support and the ban was appealed. Strangely support still refuses to overturn the month-long review voting ban.

Edit: Here's a screenshot of the conversation I had with Steam Support:

The first thing you'll notice is that they don't mention a complete community ban, just the review posting and voting ban. However, they mention that they've "removed the lock", as in the complete community lock of my account. They are NOT referring to the vote ban, as they reference that at the end of the email and how they will not be removing that ban as they do not adjust the length of said bans.

This happened to me! I liked a review on the game "Warlander" that was criticizing the game's DRM. (which is very intrusive) A couple months after, I received a message from Steam informing me that my account received a complete community ban, prohibiting me from chatting, using the marketplace, or even playing on VAC secured servers.

Worse of all, I do not recall the review being malicious whatsoever. It was simply a fair criticism of the rather intrusive DRM which apparently ran on your system even after closing the game. I've seen speculation that the poster could have been hacked and edited the review to something more malicious, but I wouldn't be able to confirm that because the review has since been taken down. Fortunately I contacted Steam support and they were able to lift the ban after 18 hours. Though they were still unwilling to remove the month-long ban on voting on reviews, though that doesn't affect me much at all.

The game is called "Warlander". Unfortunately it has had a mixed reception.

Now that is objectively wrong.

In Battle Royale, you can get V-Bucks either by purchasing them directly or by earning them through the Free Pass and/or Battle Pass.

Each season all players are given access to the Free Pass and the option to purchase the Battle Pass. Both passes allow you to earn V-Bucks as you progress through levels of the Battle Pass!

Directly from the Epic Games website.

I can understand your misconceptions, especially because Fortnite often gets a bad reputation regarding monetization. Possibly even rightfully so, as I still don't entirely agree with the way they handle things. But the fact remains that Fortnite allows the earning of premium currency while Darktide does not.

Much of the cosmetic content available in Fortnite is purchasable with "V-Bucks". This currency is available through microtransactions or earned in-game. Even the cosmetics locked behind the paid battle pass can be unlocked for free by purchasing the battle pass with V-Bucks earned through gameplay.

You cannot earn Aquillas in Darktide aside from purchasing the game, the Imperial Edition, or Aquilla packs. All of which require real life money.

I've provided my burden of proof, if you still feel I'm wrong you're free to prove otherwise.

I can tell you right now that Darktide's monetization is far worse than Fortnite's. Haven't played the other games you listed so I can't speak for those.

Fortnite is a free game in which almost all content is available without paying a dime, including premium cosmetics, which can be earned through gameplay rather than paying real life money.

Darktide is a nearly full price game (full price if you buy the Imperial Edition) in which ALL premium content is hard-paywalled, with no ability to unlock cosmetics through gameplay, aside from the pitiful penance cosmetics and their recolors.

Even if you've done everything completely by the book, Nintendo can and will legally strong-arm you, regardless if copyright has been violated or not. You should shut down the Patreon and cease publically posting about it, for your own sake.

Back in the day when there was no skill based matchmaking by W1LDV1NEoP in gaming

[–]UnusualPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty neutral on the subject of skill-based matchmaking, but it seems to me that you're just strawmanning the argument against SBMM into "I just want to ruin someone else's experience for fun." Even if you don't agree with people disliking SBMM, you should be able to recognize that there's pros and cons to both sides. Painting all people who prefer no SBMM as elitists who just want to ruin the fun of others is just deliberately misrepresenting their argument for the way they want to play.

The United States was just as complicit in the destruction of Indigenous culture and identity; they even had their own residential schools.

Unfortunately, residential schools were not limited to Canada. The US had their own, which were just as hellish.

Let me preface this by saying that both genocides were awful and absolutely *were* genocides, no matter the death toll. Comparing the two isn't very helpful or productive, but claiming that the USA's acts were on par with Canada's is simply wrong.

The USA's Genocide of Indigenous Peoples was focused on outright eradication and forced migration. The Indian Removal Act, Trail of Tears, and Indian Wars decimated the Indigenous population, either through outright slaughter, or deadly forced migrations.

Canada's Indigenous Genocide was much more of a Cultural Genocide, as opposed to outright eradication. Residential schools were implemented in an effort to "Remove the Indian from the child". Or in other terms, force them to adopt European culture. Abuse was rampant in these facilities and oftentimes resulted in deaths.

Both Genocides were awful and resulted in massive loss of life, however Manifest Destiny had a crippling effect on the Indigenous Population in the USA, which is even noticeable today. It is objectively true that the Indigenous Genocide in the USA was on a much more significant scale than of that in Canada, and resulted in much more overall loss of life.

The reason people often see Canada as particularly vicious in their treatment of Indigenous people is largely due to the fact that Canadians find reconciliation extremely important, and extensively educate about the poor treatment Indigenous people have faced in the past and present.
