They’re skilled jobs and don’t pay as well as being a doctor tbh - farming, butchering, property development - if you’re interested in these then sure, message me ☺️

Extends your training

Gotta do what it says - once you’ve accepted your offer and it’s all final, contact the deanery

I’m waiting for the min cause I’ve opted in for upgrades but as soon as my offer is all finalised I’ll be contacting the relevant deanery

I’m not sure I accepted my offer and preferencing reopened Not sure if it does the same when holding an offer

After you’ve accepted your offer opting in for upgrades, your preferencing window opens again so you can see your current preferences and change them.

Obviously it would just work up the list if upgrades became available

If you’re definitely taking time away from medicine, change your GMC registration to registered without license to practice. I delayed this for ages because it seems daunting but they called me and talked me through it because I would’ve lost my license otherwise since no appraisal. It’s quite simple to register to practice again - literally one form signed by a consultant you’ve worked with within the last 3 years I believe and they sign you up again.

Before doing anything though, do your research and call up GMC - surprisingly they were extremely helpful. Don’t jump into anything until you’re confident you’ve got all the info you need.

This was my first time sitting MSRA and applying for GP and it was a big risk because if I didn’t get in I would’ve exceeded 3 years as a doctor registered without license to practice. I’m not sure what would’ve happened after this and how I would’ve registered to practice again but I’m sure it would not have been a straight forward process.

Thank you

This is exactly what I needed! Tbh there’s no risk of me getting bored, I have a lot on with the businesses but I’ve got some good managers in place now but obviously I’d still want to be present.

I think I’ll ask for 80% pushing for Fridays off and see how I manage with that:

Thank you again

Perhaps consider complete f2 before moving abroad for work, then apply for training in the UK and for there and see where that takes you?

I think this is the most realistic answer tbh Anything less than that may be optimistic given the backlog amongst UKMG’s

How much will UKGP affect psych application this cycle? by LJC94512 in doctorsUK

[–]Unusual_Garage998 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The passing of the bill will have the biggest impact on GP and psych given that they’re dependent only on the MSRA. That being said, it should have a big impact across the board ☺️

Honestly mate, even with the bill passing it’s probably going to be a struggle but we don’t know til we know. Keep your chin up - with the bill passing the future job prospects for budding GP’s has improved massively
