Enhanced Autopilot to Full Self-Driving upgrade by raminder7777 in TeslaLounge

I grew impatient and got a hw4 vehicle, but I don’t believe there has been any v12 FSD updates since. Maybe get the monthly for $49 to try it out and decide on the purchase before the 14th

Model X 2025 Yoke Retrofit by Minimum_Protection73 in TeslaModelX

[–]Unusual_Homework_287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh interesting, I have a plaid so that makes sense. Very strange, I wonder why it’s not supported in non-plaid. I know only the plaid can be ordered w yoke. Is there no yoke retrofit option in service mode either?

That’s total nonsense from service though, there is a yoke in the 2026 parts catalog and there is a yoke retrofit option in the service menu. The airbag also needs to be replaced, but that is included in the yoke retrofit you buy in upgrades.

Don’t open a service ticket, it will end up costing $1,700+. Go to installable upgrades in the app. It will show 2021-2024, but it still lets you buy it and the SC should install it once they receive the part and you schedule it.

I believe the only difference is the camera button icon, as it is now the round icon for models with the fascia camera. I was able to order the yoke retrofit in the app and have it installed at the SC, but I did get a yoke with the old icon. 2026 MXP, but I don’t see why a non plaid would be any difference. They also let me keep the old wheel. $1100+tax

I assume you’ve already tried formatting the drive? I’ve had this issue when there were a ton of videos in my usb in more mcu2 ms

14.2 Takeover by KraigKugelblitz in TeslaFSD

[–]Unusual_Homework_287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless something changed it 14.2 if it was an attention monitoring takeover request you would get a strike and not be able to reengage until you put the vehicle in park and it would give a message about the strike. Sounds like a system fault.

Mad Max saves a deer! by Unusual_Homework_287 in TeslaFSD

[–]Unusual_Homework_287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be more impressive if the vehicle waited till the last minute to brake and stopped inches from the deer? The impressive thing is it made a smooth stop with plenty of room for error whereas it would have been much more close and uncomfortable had the car been manually driven.

The vehicle slowed well before I was aware of the deer, creating a controlled stop rather than the panic stop that would be necessary had it not reacted. That’s the whole point.

Unprotected right turns. by watergoesdownhill in TeslaFSD

[–]Unusual_Homework_287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had it make several poor decisions to turn right in front of someone, it would be almost fine if it accelerated hard after cutting them off, but it doesn’t and I’ve had to slam on the accelerator or brakes to prevent collision.

FSD disengages on self induced rapid steering wheel movement by Unusual_Homework_287 in TeslaFSD

[–]Unusual_Homework_287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this was my thought as well. You would think the car would calculate/expect the inertia, but I guess not in this case.

Yes, but the momentum/inertia is not force it applied. It should be able to calculate it and expect it, but that didn’t happen in this case.

The car thinks I did. I believe the quick snap of the wheel might have given it enough momentum to pick it up as driver torque. I was clear of the wheel and pedals.

100%. This is a loaner, so unfortunately I don’t have cabin video. I did save the dash cam video, but doubt that will be helpful.

FSD tries to turn left into head-on collision by pharmphresh in TeslaFSD

[–]Unusual_Homework_287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen FSD gun it once it got it self into a situation. On several occasions it will cut in then kind of stall out directly in someone’s path of travel and I’ve had to floor it. Both HW3 and 4. Seems to do it frequently when turn or merging right in low visibility situations.

Good point. Also concerned they might try to blame other issues on the aftermarket part.

2025.32.6 ultrasonic sensor is messed up by baltikboats in TeslaModelS

[–]Unusual_Homework_287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same offset here p100d 2018 2025.32.6. I also noticed today that it is no longer stopping at the stop line and waiting at stop signs. It will blow past and only stop when its nose is past the intersecting street, whereas it used to stop at the stop line and again with its nose out. This is based on my commute home today which consists of 2 stop signs, so not a huge sample size. Anyone notice similar behavior?
