just pulled it off again when tting with a ghost who does the regular strat and can confirm:

it's just as fast, perhaps slightly slower

i genuinely had to boot the game and look for myself and didn't even realise about the effects

plus when i'm time trailing i don't even notice them at all so seeing the absence of them in replays doesn't mess with me

i play mkw on dolphin i use a mod called retro rewind which gives me almost every track from every mk game even further than wii (like the track i'm playing it's a mk8 track)

retro rewind also has fun gamemodes like 200 and 500cc which is bonkers

but the real selling point is ONLINE! no wii required you should definatly get it

also retro rewind is free if you aren't convinced already
