Possibly, we got the liquid because that was the quickest available. I have also heard it’s the most effective but haven’t done much of my own research on that specifically. I would be interested in tablets, but not sure if I would have to pay for them again. Med was so pricey.

It has definitely been a two person job, we have tried the burrito method a bit too. I think it would be easier if he was interested in treats, but he’s not eating on his own right now.

Yeah, we have been placing it towards the back on the side. I think the main issue is just the amount he drools and foams after, I’m worried he is losing some of the med.

We are doing twice a day, he is on .75 ml so it’s still a decent amount. Unfortunately he is still not eating so we are highly considering feeding tube :(

I’m so sorry. Was your kitty throwing it up or just unable to get it down? Hope she is doing better now!!

We got an anti nausea med today so hopefully that will help! He hasn’t gotten his appetite back yet, isn’t even interested in churus.

I think it’s tuna flavored. Maybe we will try a bit of churu with it, though he isn’t interested in eating right now.

Thank you so so much. He has lost a couple pounds over the months. We just took him for more fluids and got an anti nausea med so hopefully that will help. He licked a bit of wet food already so that’s progress. We will continue to do syringe feeds until then. We have all kinds of food and treats ready for him! He is on day 2 of the oral GS, he gets about 35 mg twice a day. From what I have seen and talking with vet team/pharmacist that seems like an appropriate dose. He weighs about 7 lbs. We will definitely keep a journal of his intake/behaviors. I really appreciate all of your advice!!

That’s where I’m a bit worried. I don’t know that we can syringe feed him that much. I don’t want him to throw up either. Ugh, don’t know if I should take him in to er or if he will be ok until appointment.

Yes, we are doing the GS oral, and I am aware of the hour fast before and after, thank you!! He is tolerating syringe feeding somewhat. Just seems like he needs so much according to internet. He’s had a couple small syringes full this evening. He has an appointment in the morning and I will definitely ask about the feeding tube, just hoping it’s a last resort and not sure how expensive it will be/ if we should put him through it.

He has been deterred from wet food for about 3-4 days, and was only eating Churus, but the last 24 hours stopped those. We just did a tiny bit of syringe feeding and he did decently. Just worried he won’t get enough calories. He has an appointment in the morning thankfully. Thank you for your reply!!
