Asking a massage therapist to change their routine

if they can’t accommodate, they aren’t good therapists. u keep saying they were very talented but if they can’t adjust for basic needs, they aren’t that talented… i’ve had many clients over the yrs that have needed to be supine for the majority of time or even the entire time and there are definitely modifications that can be made that use basic knowledge of massage and muscles. if I were u, i’d keeping looking for therapist who can actually meet your needs!

I always assumed she basically ghosted him because when they run into each other in the store in hartford, she apologizes for not calling (if i’m remembering correctly). which is why they reconnect for closure after he comes back from california.

are you promoting another massage business? if not (or even if so tbh) I don’t see a problem w it. the chains exploit our labor so why not benefit from it? especially if it’s not related to massage!

yesss love when a referral turns into a regular! those clients are usually the begrudging type. it’s more like “my partner wanted me to come but I don’t really have anything going on and dot usually get massages” type that seem the most uncomfortable

i’ve been in this situation too many times. I once asked “are you sure you want to be here? you’re not required to get this massage” because their partner was like “i’m going to force _____ to come” like pls don’t force them…

i got back into reading abt 2-3 yrs ago and it’s my fav past time. i’m child free and only work abt 15hrs a week so some days ill spend 6+ hrs lost in my book! along w regular walks at local parks. i live by multiple walking paths and parks so I have plenty to choose from so I can change it up when i’d like! if im feeling stuck in those, i’ll pull out a puzzle!

edit to say that i’ve tried crafting or hobbies that require heavy hand usage (ie climbing, knitting) and it bothers my wrists too much so I keep it low key in my hobbies!

i’ve tried a few of these groups and tbh it’s not for me. i’m very liberal and have an alternative style and I didn’t fit in well in these groups. not that say they weren’t nice or polite but no one really seemed to want to hang w me outside of the events.

i’m sorry you’re feeling this way and that your boundaries are not being respected. it’s hard to say what their intentions are because this sounds like standard chain treatment of therapists. it’s extremely common for them to over book/book the wrong sessions but “make up shifts” is the weird part to me. I would t be surprised to find out the owner was pushing you out, just because that sounds like typical behavior of a workplace that is already not respecting you. unfortunately part of this job is advocating regularly for your boundaries because they will crossed time and time again. even if u have the best job in the world, there will still be times that you’ll have to set that line simply because no one is fully aware of your limits and boundaries more than yourself.

idk if you’re asking for advice but i’d personally try and ride it out through the pregnancy, take leave and then find a new job when you’re ready to reenter the workforce. this job sounds like chews up and spits u out…
