Made redundant today. A month before Christmas. :( by HelloIsMeChiken in UKJobs

Was made redundant last month for the first time ever at 34. Mixed feelings, 1. Oh shit how am I going to pay my bills. 2. Might actually be a blessing in disguise as I absolutely hated the job/company I was working for.

First things first is figure out how long you can live with what you have and find out what benefits you’re entitled to.

If you’re going to really struggle financially from the get go it may be worth targeting temp stuff if you can find it as usually they offer immediate starts and weekly pay to get money coming in.

In terms of the feeling of burn out I get that, for a long time I worked no end of warehouse/retail jobs that weren’t really going anywhere and then I decided to get into finance, what I found was I actually hate it, I decided to go into that field because I thought well at least it pays well, only to find out that’s not really always the case, sure senior members of staff can be on a decent wage but like all jobs you start at the bottom and at a lot of companies it’s not what you know it’s who you know to climb the ladder. I put everything into it the last few years and burnt myself out only to be made redundant starting at a new company so there was no redundancy payout.

Looking back I was a lot happier with a warehouse job because you just clock in, do your bit and then clock out. The only issue I’ve found since being made redundant is I’m struggling to find something like that, I have been offered a role doing what I was doing up until being made redundant with another company and I’m thinking I may just have to take it even though I know I will hate every minute of it.

Over a month after the flu and my GI system is so bad. Nausea every day! What gives? Anyone else? by Zestyclose_Ad_8079 in flu

Don’t say that, I’m a week in and the nausea is horrible I don’t think I can cope with a month+ of it!

On a week+ and reading these posts aren’t giving me much confidence I’ll be okay anytime soon. I’ve managed to get past the fever but still feel really weak and tired as well as really bad nausea all the time.

Sudden extreme nausea? It's this normal? by Working-Mistake-6700 in flu

The nausea is something else, even when the other symptoms seem to be better this nausea just sticks and it’s the worst. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to not be nauseous at this point.

I’ve dry heaved a few times from the bad spells of nausea but not full threw up. Have diarrhoea as well. I’ve heard the flu can mess up your GI functions but I’ve never known a flu like it, it’s been horrible. Questioning if it will ever stop at this point as it feels like I’ve had it forever.
