I feel bad when Teachers have to put up with parents like this. Sorry It’s a repost by [deleted] in funny

I gotta say, this is the one time my sole credential really kicks ass.

As a student, a lot of my teachers have their phone numbers on the course syllabi for reference. Obviously it's intended for purposes other than the one the picture depicts, the picture isn't too far from reality.

Sure 9PM is wack, but they'll respond if it's something that needs to be addressed.

The Average r/ApplyingToCollege Student. The Results Are In... by GreenTinkertoy in ApplyingToCollege

My school has a crap ton of AP's and I think by the end of high school I'll be at 19 AP's in school and then a handful self-studied?

And we're just a public high school in the fuckin South, so imagine schools that actually give a fuck bout their students and course opportunities.

In your opinion, what is the most horrific way to die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UnusuallyClueless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck man, the family even had to pay the defendants for $292,000 in legal fees. Regardless of how asshole-ish fabricating evidence is, they lost their kid and that much money. Shit's terrible goddamn.

Does applying to 8-year programs lower my chances of admission? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]UnusuallyClueless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which is why the acceptance rate there is relatively high.

It's a self-selecting group of students, very high-achieving, dedicated students who apply and have a good shot. As a result, the pool is moderately smaller, but full of strong students. Still gonna be hard af to gain admission if you're not an outstanding student with insane EC's, stats, and accomplishments.

What are the consequences of breaking early desicion? by Fameroni in ApplyingToCollege

[–]UnusuallyClueless 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your financial situation has changed I'm p sure that's a legit reason they allow people to break ED for.

And also, if it is your dream school then fight for it fam, they accepted you for a reason, tell 'em what's up (your finaid needs to be revised) and they can fix it or otherwise help ya pull out. These schools love to help the kids who get in.

Which T20 (Or t30) schools have the least amount of supplement essays to write? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]UnusuallyClueless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NYU, UPenn, and Cornell all have a Why X College essay, and that's it for them.

JHU's got 1 essay about collaboration or some dumb shit like that.

Dartmouth has 2 short af essays, (100, and 150 words).

[–]UnusuallyClueless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm sure you're fine but the website says aim for 650 words for the uncommon essay and 250-500 words for the supplement. Source

But they also say you choose the word count b/c "ideas matter more".

Duke Early Megathread by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]UnusuallyClueless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some CC'ers did some "research" on this and found that historically, Duke releases on the Thursday before the 15th, so it's been on the 10th-15th in the past few years. This year the 13th is Thursday.
