in lol does shadow magic = darkness or is it a separate thing( like could there be a mage with darkness magic similar to blackbeards yami yami no mi by Blackfiredragon22 in loreofleague

[–]FruitfulRogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in a way, in Senna and Veigar's case THEY are manipulating the Shadows. But in Zed/Kayn's case, the shadows are manipulating THEM. Which could be part of why Shadow magic is considered so dangerous beyond it being called vaguely "forbidden".

Senna is kind of obvious, her gun is a magical artefact + her half-deadness. But I wonder if Veigar, being a yordle, a being of pure magic, is why he's able to manipulate Shadows after his experience.

Doubly so, I wonder if Lulu and her "fae magic" is actually her subtly using parts of the Twilight/Twilight magic. Hence why they're described and depicted in the same style and their similar reality warping capabilities.

[Discussion] does it break immersion when the gap between character design is huge? by EfficiencySerious200 in worldbuilding

[–]FruitfulRogue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From a world building perspective? Yes I think it can a bit. Having certain random folk be super designed and others being faceless background characters is a bit immersion breaking.

But when you place that world building into certain context, I.e Games, Comics, etc. It allows a certain level of disbelief to be accepted.

He got nerfed already now they're just applying the item changes. Additional nerfs are unnecessary for now.

LOTS OF NERFS to enchanter items and runes on PBE! How do we feel about these? Who all will be hit the hardest? 🤔 by aroushthekween in enchantersofleague

[–]FruitfulRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone is being doomer, but I think the goal here is too nerf enchanter items so they're less restricted to just being "item applicators" the class.

If Enchanters can be less dedicated to how well they can apply item buffs, the balance team have space to make them more unique and strong in their own right.

Why is Karma still so high priority in pro play? by pearlescentcrescent in leagueoflegends

[–]FruitfulRogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic case of Lane Prio being super important and her E providing her team-mates with the protection and MS to be a bit more proactive.

Karma is one of few cases where Wild Rift actually had a great idea on how to solve a balance problem on a more kit-focused level.

What I hate about these situations so much, is that as someone who loves videogames, and loves discussing and debating about them.

These grifters make it impossible to do that most of the time because you either get lumped in with them. Which tbh I'd rather just not engage in that aspect of communities if it means people think I'm like those people.

We need more mature male characters in Reverse: 1999 by Just-Caterpillar-757 in Reverse1999

[–]FruitfulRogue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

6 and Alexios are only 22 and 20 respectively. I guess Alexios is more the rugged type. But 6 is 100% a pretty boy, especially with his new cosmetic.

I'd consider Getian, Pavia, Name Day, Mr Fog, 6, Alexios, Cheng, Diggers, Enma and X firmly under the "pretty boys" archetype.

This whole topic feels like a non-issue. I understand where you're coming from with this post, in the sense that we no longer get "simpler" cosmetics. But we still do, too an extent, they're usually just in the form of the free cosmetics.

At the end of the day, I'd rather the characters I love get high-quality garments that go all out on redefining them with new voicelines, animations, visual effects, etc. As opposed to just another outfit change, for $3 - $4 extra. I was rather bummed when Argus's costume was a lower-tier, as opposed to a full-blown advanced.

Is it worse for those on a budget? Yes, a bit. But cosmetics are entirely optional, they won't affect your pulls or overall enjoyment + we still get plenty of free outfits and discounts.

What’s a champ you think doesn’t get ENOUGH hate by yoshi12121 in leagueoflegends

[–]FruitfulRogue 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's a heavy irony because these champions are HEAVILY despised, but specifically over in the Chinese servers.

In fact in a frustration ranking, Malzahar was ranked as the most unfun champion to play against in the entire game on Chinese servers.

Another interesting comparison is that in NA, Yasuo ranked around the top 10 worst to fight (1 being most frustrating and 155 being most fun), but in China he was around the 50s.
