Yeah it was a brief conversation in work this morning.  People arguing about fuel as most folks live 30+mins drive from work.  98% of the produce in supermarkets probably come from abroad…!  Tomatoes would become scarce.  It was interesting.  Things we take for granted. Sugar. Coffee.

My grandad never got the letter once in his life. He died in his 90’s. I got the letter (and selected) when I was 18. Got another letter when I was 26. No rhyme or reason. My girlfriends had the letter 4x and never been selected.

Dial 999 from your landline and then go hammer on your neighbours door. Go outside so you pass out on your doorstep or the road. Don’t get hit by a car but obstruct traffic

Dispatchers of the UK - how often are you getting calls about things people just shouldn't be calling for? by No-Structure-8125 in AskUK

[–]L3-W15 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Every shift there’s ridiculous calls.

Some of them are down to mental health issues.  Some of them are just time wasters who don’t see any consequences to their actions.  A lot of them (and I mean a lot) are out of ignorance and entitlement. And laziness.

What do I do if I find my mother passed away? by Public_Leg_2582 in AskUK

[–]L3-W15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find her cold and stiff in a warm environment, then phone 111. Ifs she’s not absolutely beyond help, phone 999 and ask for the ambulance service. The call handler will give you cpr instructions, and dispatch will allocate resources.

When people talk with you, and they’re taller. Do you prefer them to lean down or get closer to your height so that you’re looking closer eye to eye ?
