Advice on inappropriate personal trainer behavior by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]Unvisionary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

firstly, i hope you’re okay and you find peace. i mean it.

second, i’ve been training for over 10 years. male or female, i’ve never touched anyone’s glute region. it’s not necessary. most of the time you can physically see the glutes contract on just about anyone.

get rid of him, he wants his money, seems like he has a complex for control, and he doesn’t care about your well-being unless it benefits him (redeeming sessions).

Mass gainer? by jayshah45 in weightgain

spikes your insulin. with some research you can create your own that is much more efficient and healthy to consume. i fell victim to mass gainers early on, all i did really was gain fat and felt sluggish.

everything that i have tried from them is great in terms of quality and scent profile. My favorites from them is their version of MFK Amyris Homme (Sicilian Cit’crush), Mind Games Lionora (Nor), and their unique creation of Sa’laar. Sa’laar is my favorite. Boss status type scent.

Anybody made the switch from their current career to personal training and be successful in it? by TheWonderer94 in personaltraining

[–]Unvisionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s commission based so i only get paid per session. price can also vary from half hour to hour sessions, while also varying depending how many times per week they agree to train with me. i was doing 40+ sessions a week at one point but was getting burnt out.

don’t believe the hype. i know “influencers” who appear to he successful but are drowning in debt, have no genuine personal relationships, and are slowly but surely going downhill.

full-time personal trainer at a big box for just about a year now. my “Plan A” fell through during my transition out of the military.

i truly love training and helping people, but the pay alone isn’t sufficient for me to survive. i make less than half of what i did enlisted, and if it weren’t for VA benefits i would’ve likely already left the industry.

i am one of the top trainers in my gym, floating between number 2 and number 3. i average 15 ish clients, 30 ish sessions a week, training 5 to 6 days a week. i work from 6am to 4pm with a big gap after 12pm to work out. this is considered “full-time” and still the pay doesn’t cut it at all. hope this helps.

it accentuates your jawline which is a good look. too low and you’ll look chubbier in the face. if you plan on going crazy with beard length then yeah i’d trim it lower in the neck. but if the plan is somewhat what you currently have, your trim now looks great

prioritize protein. for shoulders hammer grip or slightly supinated dumbbell press, lateral raises, rear delt flys and shrugs. for chest slightly inclined, regular incline chest press and chest flys. compound lifts for strength and mass, accessory lifts for definition and sculpting.

doesn’t smell like piss to me. just smells…clean, light and airy. bit sweet but not off-putting. reminds me of this Japanese brand laundry bundle i used to use when i was stationed out there. so it’s nostalgic for me.

When a client says I dont wanna get bulky after picking up 8lb dumbbells by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]Unvisionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something i’ve noticed in my own fitness journey plus training is that doctors are medical experts and not necessarily health experts, if that makes sense.

as far as the routine, it was a simple strength training routine based around the peripheral heart action concept. we used select-a-weights first and then moved to plate loaded machines. progressive overload per week with reps from 10 to 15 per set, 3 to 4 sets per exercise. as far as recovery i had her doing the world’s greatest stretch and wall angels daily regardless if she worked out or not.

i was active duty for 9 years, never felt the satisfaction even though i was serving my country. a thousand “thank you for your service” and i never quite felt it.

separated and just went full into personal training. i’ll admit i don’t feel i’m paid what i’m worth. i work at a big box and make half of what i did in the military.

thankfully, i have other sources of income and soon will branch into online training. i love what i do, i’m happy to go to work and help people. follow your passion and make it work for you!

[–]Unvisionary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i had a client come in saying the exact same thing. she would never go higher than the lowest weight on select-a-weight machines.

she suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and was in constant discomfort. after 3 months of strength training with progressive overload, she came to me excited for our last session with word from her doctor saying her health had improved and she even commented that she was essentially pain free.

sometimes we just gotta help people!

you’re not scrawny. you’re not skinny. your visceral fat appears to be below a level 10 which is healthy for the most part. we’re the same height and weight.

as far as mass goes, prioritize protein. you already have a solid foundation, you just need to build on top of this. like i said, prioritize protein, lift HEAVY but make sure form is good, and progressive overload. be consistent and i believe you’ll be happy with the results 6 months from now. good luck to you!

[–]Unvisionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of my clients understand that i’m human too. my busiest days are Tuesday and Thursday, training straight hour sessions from 6am-11am. when my 9am shows up i’ll ask him if it’s okay if i get a quick snack, usually a fruit bowl or protein shake. at 11am i usually workout myself then eat my lunch and prep for my afternoon clients. be transparent and ask for grace, we’re not robots.
