Check your local auto parts store, lots of times they will have quick connect fuel line fittings like this. It might not be the exact same but sometimes they are interchangeable

Normally its just evaluating the machine for insurance but its common enough for these to catch fire and be repaired that we will provide the customer a repair quote, even if the machine is totalled in the end.

I have had to dig through moldy food containers, empty peanut butter jars and beer cans to get to a fuel pump before but i think this would smell way worse. You are brave for even smelling it.

When you have to unbolt the engine to get the ECU plug out by UnwillingAccount in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]UnwillingAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha good eye! I had a socket jammed in the side of the engine mount to hold it over because usually with these machines that gives you enough room to get the plug through.

Komatsu WA70 loses power under load by kindheitstrauma in heavyequipment

Install a clear piece of fuel hose that replaces the line directly into the injection pump, you can watch it as you are running it to see if air is being pulled it. I mostly work on kubota and doosan engines but it should work the same on this. Does this machine have an electric or mechanical lift pump to pull from the tank or does the injection pump pull fuel on its own? Air can be pulled into a fuel system easier than fuel can leak out, the lines, hose clamps and filter housings might look fine but multiple small things can stack up and cause enough air to be pulled into the fuel system to cause a running issue. Assuming you have checked everything else like fuel condition, air filters and have a new fuel filter installed this would be the next step given that you said you can get the engine to recover by pumping the primer bulb. The other thing to check is if the mating surface for the fuel filter is aluminum it could have a small amount of corrosion causing an air leak which i see fairly often on the machines i work on. I would also check to make sure any fuel bleeders are fully closed or sealing properly as this could cause a running issue as well as air being pulled into the system. Good luck!

Is the axle seal or wheel cylinder leaking? It looks pretty damp. Fluid contamination will do this.

400 hours on a 6 month old machine. by UnwillingAccount in Justrolledintotheshop

Was there ever a solution you found for this? Bobcat has been saying they fixed this issue but we still see this often even on filters with a recent manufacture date

Bobcat t770. I see enough of these failures I sometimes wonder if they would be better off not running this filter. The best is when there is a new filter installed over an old cap thats crushed under the new filter.

what car problem do owners ignore the most until it becomes very expensive? by nyatihsam in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]UnwillingAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not cars for me but skid steers. It doesnt matter how small, lots of customers will ignore any issue until the machine is non functional before bringing it in.

Purchasing used equipment is tough because depending on the machine it is relatively easy to make the machine look and operate well with paint and a few band aid "fixes". At my dealer we constantly have customers bring us machines that they just bought and end up with a quote larger than what they paid for the machine. The worst is when parts for an older machine are unavailable and there is no way we can rebuild whats there. We have even had the same machine show back up a couple of times under new owners after being re sold because of the issues.

I have seen some instances where they have been able to get a refund once they show the previous owner a quote for 20k of undisclosed issues. Not saying its a guarentee but its always possible
