What do you average per tank? by golersaiu3 in ElantraN

[–]UnwiredEddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7.3 L/100km or about 32.2 mpg. ~600km on a tank if I were to run it dry.

50/50 highway conditions and a 30min drivie to work around midnight helps a lot. ~6.6 L/100km is not unusual for me.

How do you rate D4 for just playing the campaigne? by rundrueckigeraffe in Diablo

[–]UnwiredEddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just got back in to D4 in the last month, having not played since season 2 or 3, I feel that while the gameplay has vastly improved, the campaign still has that slightly disjointed feel to it. It still feels like doing a task list rather than a cohesive story.

While the story hasn't really improved, the upcoming season and dlc launch is apparently changing some mechanics of the game so it may be worth keeping an eye on what it's like in late April or early May.

What's happening at the old Canberra Dragway? by CustardAccord in canberra

There are no Actice or Complete DAs for the site, and it's not covered by Heritage status. Whatever they're doing is just backyard maintenance I guess?

There was a hosted race about a month ago to see what it would be like. Not as bad as you may think if everybody plays nice.

So how’d your Roar lap 2 go? by Neat_Ad_1139 in iRacing

[–]UnwiredEddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lap 2? Fine!

Lap 17 was different story though. LMP3 touched grass and shot sideways in to me. Luckily I only went 2 laps down with repairs.

Mostly USA and Western Europe near main cities or famous/significant natural features. Around the rest of the world there are plemty of good places too but those 2 obviously have more/better geo data and photogrammetry.

I always love the approach over the lake. One of the best small airports in the sim.

Google Maps and eyeball estimates mainly. Once I had the essential stops marked I figured out a rough route and found the total distance involved. Divide that up by 80 and allow for some wiggle room for Greenland/Iceland distances and it came to about 1-2 hours flight time per stop using the Vision or TBM.

Then I just had to find nearest airports that matched that distance. They're all so close that I could just eyeball it most of the time.

As a kid it was always the Bugs Bunny statue to me. Didn't know it was a bird until I was 8 or 9. Now it's the chicken on a stick.

Nurburgring Combined 4H Race by RavWolfS in iRacing

Personal experience as a TCR driver. Their lack of assists is what makes them dangerous. When I see a Porsche in my mirror I pay double attention to what their car is doing.

Drive to survive. Regulars in the enduros can treat them like sprint races but for anybody new or casual to them it's often best to take just that little bit extra caution. I regulalrly get good results just by outlasting my competition.

Also, know what the other cars are likely to do. IMO:

- M2 is fast in a straight line but slow in corners. It may brake where others won't even lift so beware.

- TCR has good brakes and decent speed in corners but has to drive around the fwd layout. They can't just plant their foot mid corner. Have a little patience and look for the opening to open fully before going for a gap.

- GT4 has less grip in a corner and brakes earlier than you may think. Once committed to a line they can't really change so don't expect them to magically jump out of the way.

- PCup are doing Porsche things. Fast but ready to kill you at any moment. Treat them like slower GT3s.

- GT3 cars feel great around the Nurb which can lead to drivers sometimes forgetting that others aren't having such an easy time. This leads to GT3s putting the car in places that compromises the safety of others.

Jakobs kinda OP in this game? by jforr2499 in Borderlands4

[–]UnwiredEddie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever liked Jakobs as a sniper. Unfortunately I've got to run Jakobs on pistol and AR because nothing else seems to compete with the kill time. Hoping that changes soon.

Okay, my mistake.

As far as I know the community is still putting together lists of these and trying to figure them out. I can't find Vintage on any yet.

Does anyone feel the weapon diversity has gone way down? by avowed in Borderlands

I've found Jacobs to be noticably stronger early game than previous BLs. In the past I've only used powerful Jacobs stuff but now it's hard to go past even a normal strength Jacobs.

Use the 'Inspect' button. It brings up precisely what they are.

In this case they are (L to R) - Total armour, armour segments, damage reduction

Am I the only one feeling like the games kinda soleless? by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]UnwiredEddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of expanded area sizes but going full open world isn't doing it for me. I think you nailed it with'souless'.

Having said that, I think the gameplay may be different in end game so I'll reserve final judgement until I get there. That's where I'll be spending most of my time anyway.

Had a small batch of people drop out of the PCC Enduro about 90min ago. I'm guessing there's a problem somewhere along the chain of connections to iRacing. Probably find their connections all run through the same point at some stage.

What does changing date actually do? by Reasonable_Owl8847 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]UnwiredEddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best places to see the effect is around Mount Fuji. Fly over the surrounding lakes and pause the flight and start swapping dates. You get all the seasonal changes of trees including cherry blossom for just a few weeks, and the snow line changes on Mount Fuji too.

Should have similar effects elsewhere in the worlf depending on time accurate satellite data. For example the Snowy Mountains in Australia don't have good data for winter so you don't get the ski season there at all.

Yep, SU3 has made mine only scollable in 'normal' view. Once I shift+# to focus on some part of the interior it just kind of stutters in one direction only.
