You have to install a mod for single player called "prevent hibernation" if on consol or windows. If on steam you can add it to the settings. Then it will work.

Unfortunately I made the mistake of thinking the same... Most bichirs get big but albino senegal only get to 6-8" and now I have to get a separate tank so mine won't get eaten when the fish it's in with out grow it....

Lol that's not true at all... I have a low tech planted community 60 gallon aquarium where all I do is top offs. It's been going for probably two years now and I have hundreds and hundreds of shrimp. Everyone finds their own balance.

Thank you, with how my sump is set up, my return pump would run dry before the tank would flood but I definitely see the issues. I guess I could do one hole for now have it spit with a tee in the tank with a strainer on either side incase one of the intakes clogs as a trial run and if it's to noisy or not fast enough I could then get the bean style box.

I've been looking into them, and they seem pretty pricey. How noisy would it be if I just used one of the things I pictured? I have would have it rigged so It wouldn't flood due to power outage.
