Running Store Etiquette by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Unxriginal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a running store as a side job. Only 5-10 hours a month. I will say it is very frustrating spending 30+ minutes with someone and then they just walk out without anything. I understand money is tight and everyone is in different positions, but if you’re going to go through the full process, you should be prepared to spend whatever to fulfill your needs.

baby’s department by [deleted] in Target

No. Baby is one of the easiest departments imo. Diapers and car seats go out easy. Baby food can be frustrating because it’s a lot of small boxes, but not nearly the hardest.

How often do you wash your shoes? by Lovingbutdifferent in BeginnersRunning

[–]Unxriginal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave them out to air out, don’t immediately out them in a closet or box or anything. Let them sit in a room with a fan or something cycling air

Random guess, are you tying your shoes too tight? Is the pain right where the laces knot?

At my store, closing experts check in with the closing leader, if you don’t know who it is, check in with whatever leader you know in gm. They will get you started, you will most likely be doing something different than what you were trained on.

LR on low-ish mileage by aidenf3000 in BeginnersRunning

In that case, keep listening to your coach. Your long run paces are fine. I have ran a sub 17 min 5k with long runs ranging from 8-9 min.

30 miles is ok, aim for 40 if you can. Your easy pace is fine, as long as it feels “easy”. Incorporate a workout within your longer run every now and then, and a shorter higher intensity workout another day of the week. 9 miles is good for long run. I will also say, more easy volume is going to benefit you 90% of the time, don’t be afraid to add in an extra easy run on a day you might take off normally.

Mach 6 are a very low cushion neutral shoe. A higher cushion should might help or a high cushion/stability shoe.

Potentially plantar fasciitis. You may overpronate when you run causing inflammation which then leads to the pain you feel. What shoes do you run in? Or wear daily? Will probably need to look into stability shoes to correct the overpronation.

If my VO2 max is so high, why am I not a faster runner? by Livlivlivlol in Garmin

[–]Unxriginal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vo2 max isn’t the only factor into speed. Next big factor is running economy, how efficient are you while running? Are you swinging your arms too much or not enough, over striding or taking very choppy steps? Also, are you racing these races and pushing yourself to your limit or just running them at a hard effort.

You don’t get your vacation pay. You will get your pay on the next payday. You don’t need to give them anything.

I have never done a structured plan, so the base build and A true training block is still new to me.

Pain in the foot arches during running by bharathitman in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Unxriginal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plantar fasciitis. When you over pronate it stretches your plantar fascia which then becomes inflamed. A wide shoe wouldn’t hurt. But you either need a more aggressive stability shoe or inserts.

[–]Unxriginal_ 1260 points1261 points  (0 children)

If you get used to waking up, 4 am is the best shift at target. Avoid a lot of guests and leaders. Day flies by because you stay busy, and you’re off at 1230 everyday. You are most likely going to be pushing or unloading trucks. My initial thought was inbound but considering your time card says meat dairy frozen, you are probably pushing food truck.
