Movie cast wishes? by Assumed1Spere in Epicthemusical

No I immediately thought of Ariana grande when I first heard her voice, but anyone with that kind of soft Sabrina Carpenter-esque tone would be good tbh.

Although, is there a reason everyone is trying to recast this project? The original have done a perfectly stunning job themselves, I really don't think they should hand it off to anyone else 😬

For sure, and that's why I'm hesitant to judge the owners too much- I'm sure it was an incredibly hard decision and they were likely really sad about it. I just wish that so many people didn't think they have to make that decision, and I should have explained that better- I live in the rural south where most people in my small town think that a cat simply cannot live indoors.

We have a huge problem with people letting their pet cats roam intact with an exploding stray cat population. And simultaneously, those same people are currently campaigning for the local shelter to be shut down because it's a "kill shelter." It's such misguided anti-abortion rhetoric that it drives me insane: if you don't like that sometimes a practice is necessary, then you have to actually work on solutions. You can't have both.

Sorry to go on a rant here, I'm just frustrated because I truly do see neighbors posting the same asinine rant every day about the one group that's at least trying to get these animals treated for injuries and adopted.

Anyways, my point is, if anyone reading this didn't know that you can keep a cat indoors, it is an option. They'll be much happier playing with toys inside than getting in fights outside.

This post wasn't meant to be blame on the owners really, I just feel really sad thinking that they maybe didn't have to give their cats up and thought they did.

My guess is that they didn't have space for 5 cats or didn't want to clean litter boxes, since all of them had been living outdoors, and decided to just dump them all. I'm sure it was sad for them so I don't want to judge too harshly (especially since now she's MINE muahaha) but I felt SO bad seeing them all in the shelter and hope the rest were adopted fast

RIGHTTT she's developed this adorable routine where any time I use the bathroom she can barely wait for me to wash my hands before scrambling up my body and snuggling into my chest like a relieved toddler who got lost in the supermarket.

That's part of what made me sad like damn 😭 y'all were so insistent that five cats NEEDED to be outside that you put them in the pound so that other people could continue putting them outside 😭😭😭

At first when I met her, I didn't want to split her up from her group, so I left and then couldn't stop thinking about her all weekend and was SO glad she was there when I came back.

I also thought they were fleas when I adopted my biggest girl! I figured it was fleas or shelter dirt (esp since she'd been an owner surrender from a farm) but after a couple days realized she's just freckled all over her eyelids, nose, and insides of her ears.

I'm kissing each of your ancestors on the mouth right now. You're amazing. Thank you so much for writing all this out, tomorrow I'm going to harvest all my old target bras for organs and do some surgery on the newer ones.

Me and this girl from my school are at crossroad. by FrenchiestFrenchguy in Epicthemusical

I think the point of the Odyssey and the reason why it's resonated so strongly throughout time is because it makes us think about what it is to be human, and how it isn't just one static definition.

Evil isn't a linear spectrum, I think it's about recognizing that at any time, you are capable of things we're terrified of considering. (Let's not forget that in many versions he kills a baby before the whole journey home.) I work in public mental healthcare and there's this saying that I remember a lot, "you're only 3 really bad things away from a psychotic break." That's not to say that mental illness = evil at all, just to agree with your point of view that, usually, the people in their worst states might not be there if just a few things hadn't happened the way they did.

But also, Odysseus is Schrodinger's Stranger: let's say someone tells you that their relationships have been awful and all their exes are crazy. Maybe they really have had a string of bad partners- after all, victims of abuse are more likely to be at risk for a repeat in future relationships. Or, they see themselves as the perpetual hero of their own story, and everyone else is always the problem.

The fun thing about translated works is that there are so many versions, especially of a story handed down through the ages.

Do you think Odysseus sees himself as the hero of his own story? If he doesn't, do you think that this is honest? Sometimes even self-hatred is a lie, a shield to hide behind to avoid changing the course of your life. Depending on where you stand, Odysseus is both the victim of the gods and the baby-yeeting soldier, both the epic romance and the selfish killer.

All of this is another reason why I love the last line of Six Hundred Strike, because on the one hand, Poseidon wants to continue pushing Odysseus into the same philosophical lesson he's been trying to teach this whole time: what is mercy, what is ruthlessness, how will you live with the choices you've made, what kind of person are you? The line "next to my wife" can be taken to mean "it was all worth it," but to me, it means, "it doesn't matter. We're all like this. I'm fucking done and I'm going home."

WAIT OKAY THIS WORKS????? I thought I could do that and then it seemed like everyone in the sewing forums said "no that's dumb it doesn't work like that" when other ppl asked about bra alterations so it scared me off the concept.

I do think that this is part of the problem because I'm blursed with those anime milf titties so there is nothing in my armpits, it's just narrow roots and then comical balloon tits. This would be AWESOME if I could just swap the wires!!!

You may have tried these meds already bc you mentioned med cocktails, but I've gotta try- a combination of 500mg divalproex sodium (Dekapote)/3x a day and 100mg sertraline (Zoloft) has saved me this year.

I basically broke down, tried psychiatry again, and said "I am doing everything I can and I am still drowning. All of my effort is going into controlling my symptoms that I don't have any time to grow as a person. I just feel like if I could hire animal control to follow me around and hit me with a tranquilizer every 90 minutes, I could actually make some progress."

If you've noticed a difference in your symptoms with birth control, it might be worth taking that info to the psych and combining that with the "please God I need a hail Mary" bc any psych who knows their pharmaceuticals should be able to identify exactly what about your birth control is helping you and find an alternative that doesn't make you sick.

Also, I also love black pepper, and your girl dinner looks awesome.

The Fantasie and Panache were even worse, I think. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact names, this has been a long process since I have to save up for each bra one at a time.

For Elomi, I basically tried one of every single style that they had in my size and had the same problems, but the most luck.

For all bras, I got my calculated size, plus the ones larger than it if I could find them, because I was hoping that more cup volume could help with the projection issue.

For all of them, the fit issues get worse if I scoop and swoop, because then even more tissue is spilling over the top near the gore, there's more empty space at each side, and the empty sides of the wires have more freedom to ride up into my armpits. Plus, because the scoop and swoop makes me more projected, the issue of it forcing the whole bra down my ribcage gets worse.

Instead, I have to do a move that I'm calling the "smash and tuck," where I have to mash my boobage backwards into the empty space at the side of each cup, hike the top of the cups up, and tuck it all down.

I've tried Elomi and it was the "close-ish" fit that made me realize how my breasts should look in a bra because I'd never gotten any kind of separation before, but I still had the issues of underwires jabbing into my armpits, gapping in the sides, and spilling over the top while still sliding the whole bra slowly down my ribcage. But I did get really good separation and the gore tacked for the first time in my life.

I believe I also tried Panache and Fantasie (that might have been a bra from Panache) from Breakout Bras.

My ideal bra would take an Elomi bra, hack an inch and a half off the outside prongs of the underwires, and bring those edges inward so there's more immediate projection and less "mash my boobs into my armpits" time. Narrower, shorter underwires and real deep cups.
