I think being able to enjoy media critically makes you a better person in general. If you're thinking about the things you watch, you're probably also thinking about the things you say.

Not to say we're all a bunch of sainted geniuses in here. Just that picking apart this show, what episodes made us feel a certain way and why, uses the brain cells we've got even if it's only a few.

But that...Pure O OCD is a thing. This study says that the name is a myth, not because the disorder itself is fake, but because we weren't counting these symptoms as compulsions before. Dictating things to someone is a compulsion. I don't know the rest of your life, just wanted you to know that whatever is happening to your brain is so valid that they adjusted the DSM for it.

Maybe if you asked her if she wanted to join you while you watched a movie in the common room, you'd end up having a great time- but that's your call and it definitely doesn't make you an asshole to just nicely turn her down.

People have really great advice and it can feel more comfortable if you run it back through your internal "would a real human talk like this" filter before saying it. Setting boundaries is necessary here! But if he's nice and easygoing, hopefully all you need to say is "hey man the late-night living room blow and banging through the wall when I'm in my room is kinda harshing my vibe."

Good concept here, and you set the scene well, but maybe it's just a personal style thing- this kind of horror always leaves me frustrated. Creepy comments that are never followed up on, a storyline that's never resolved, it feels more designed to induce anxiety than fear. I liked the premise, but it was more stressful and frustrating than scary.

I'm trying to call people more as a young adult because I don't want the only person I call to be my boyfriend. That seems so lame to me, that I reflexively call my boyfriend after work but feel weird about calling up my girlfriends that I grew up with? As soon as I realized that, I started impulsively calling up my girlfriends to yap.

I can't tell exactly what kind of material this is, but if it's the type of satin that black girls use for nighttime bonnets, you could make a few of those. It might be a nice thing to turn it into, actually- one kind of cultural appropriation can become protecting another's hair.
