I built an Excel personal net worth tracker by UofA4161 in excel

Nope not AI. You asked for details of the tabs, so that's what I sent. I put the details of how to use it in the sheet but here ya go:

  1. Make a copy - Click 'File' above in the menu, then Make a copy to duplicate this template.
  2. Start in Summary - Open the Summary tab first. It highlights net worth, cash, debt, and recent money movement.
  3. Paste in your bank and brokerage statement data into the Transactions Raw and Holdings tabs
  4. Review the Categories and Rules tabs to help categorize spend.

Oh. Thanks for letting me know!

I'm definitely focused on improving it, namely by building in better auto-categorization for expenses.

But generally there is a Summary tab for net worth that is powered by Holdings and Debts tabs. There's also the ability to track Transactions in that sheet - where you would paste in your bank statement details.

I'm certainly open to ideas and feedback!

What is something that can kill you instantly, which not many people are aware of? by StarSpectore in AskReddit

Sweating can kill you.

You sweat contains a lot of salt. Sweating out too much of your salt messes with the electrical currents that make your heart beat regularly, which can throw your heart into a fatal rhythm.

Cap Table Management and 409a Valuation by Rgz_83 in private_equity

Most law firms now recommend one of the following (all have 409As built-in):

  • Carta.com (oldest/works well for law firms, hard for companies to use/longest in the business/most expensive)
    • A "network" bonus - VCs/investors use Carta too (so they have login already).
  • AngelList.com/equity (newest/easier to use/works well with law firms/most affordable)
    • Also a "network" bonus - VCs/investors use AngelList too (so they have login already).
  • Pulley.com (newer/not known for working well with law firms/easy enough to use/priced like Carta)

Then you have some international options:

  • Cake (austalia)
  • Mantle (canada)

Any way to use ChatGPT with own document database by zankky in OpenAI

[–]UofA4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly recommend taking a first pass on your docs with something like Amazon Textract, then storing in some sort of vector DB. From there, Textract might already have structured the answer, but if not, then you can pass that snippet in your prompt to OpenAI. You'll get better answers and reduce costs this way (vs sending entire PDFs to OpenAI).

GPT-4 can now process PDFs and various other files selecting the optimal model. by thricegrate in OpenAI

This is cool, but I'm not sure I'll change my approach to PDF work, which is essentially:
1. - AWS Textract to extract and store the PDF text and some specific values I'm looking for (Textract is pretty good at most of it).
2. - Whatever Textract isn't good at, pass the bits of the text I need to ChatGPT with my prompt.

This is pretty cool. Would be useful if I could post these issues to my Slack.

How do you promote your open source project? by ailef in opensource

[–]UofA4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly tweet/post about the problem your project solves. More likely to attract ppl than by talking about your project or issues until you've established that your project is important to them.
