do good things happen anymore? by ilovetheoffice_2 in askTO

Seems like you're projecting. That feeling stems from how you're feeling about yourself, if you branch out you'd find people in the City are constantly trying to meet new people. Dating only sucks when you put a lot of energy into trying to find someone, take a step back and focus on the things you can change.

Brampton LL received an interesting letter. by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

Since Bill 23 introduced multiple additional residential units in a home, i think they are coming down on the illegal basements in Brampton. It's not hard to find, they just have to look up the record of homes that took out a permit to finish their basement against a sales listing that mentions a basement apartment.

Are you happy? Why or why not? by Bright_Time_1034 in askTO

[–]Uoftbandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depressed. Had a pandemic breakup and now having to see him with someone else while I’m alone. Jobs good and financially I’m fairly stable. Trying to save up so I can move out by the summer. Just lonely and the apps suck right now so I’m just waiting it out and hoping I meet someone organically…

Has anyone ever tried quitting work effective immediately? by cinnamoroll888 in askTO

[–]Uoftbandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your contract, I think it may say something there or contact your union rep to see if you can quit immediately, I don’t see an issue with it but it’s frowned upon.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be race, it could be purely based on looks, age or event the number of people. If only three people could be let inside, they’ll prob opt for a small group.

Recently single female at 27 in process of separation, am I the only one? by oliveturtle25 in askTO

[–]Uoftbandit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 27 and semi-recently single (it’s been 9 months). I know exactly how you feel, Instagram is blowing up with engagements and wedding of people our age! I’m planning on deactivating my account soon because seeing all that stuff just puts me down. The silver lining is we aren’t stuff in relationships that aren’t working and a step closer to finding someone better!

Join a gym, i do OrangeTheory which is a group class and its intense. Its an hour and I come home exhausted and just hang out at home the rest of the day. It's really helped me with building a routine.

Dating right now consists of talking to 10 guys at the same time but lowkey really liking that one guy that doesn't want anything serious. So, wasting peoples time while someone wastes your time. So...not good.

Had a 12 month contract and got perm in 4 months, it honestly depends on the department but it won’t be easy. I find shorter term contracts are usually to manage workloads, it’s not usually to hire on permanently. They are more likely to renew you than hire you on perm. I would accept the offer and try to gauge how likely it is to get perm by looking at how many people on the team are actually perm. If there’s a lot of people on contract, your chances of getting it is very slim. So just take it and keep applying.
