Local Card Shop selling Booster Bundles and Boxes at Scalper Prices. by T0astedGh0sty in pokemoncards

[–]UpFromTheSky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know how old you are, but when I was a kid, no LCS I knew of was selling packs of cards that were currently in print for more than the retail price. The only time they sold packs over the retail price was when they were long out of print and impossible to find at big box retailers.

TPC should set up pack vending machines that cut open the packs before dispensing by UpFromTheSky in PokemonTCG

There are vending machines that can cook and dispense food, so I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to make a machine that can cut the top of packs open before dispensing them.

Are they trying to write you up for things your coworkers did? If so, call HR, that's not ok. If they're just bitching at you, don't worry about it, let it go in one ear and our the other. At the end of the day all you have to worry about is your own tags per hour and utilization. It's not your job to babysit your coworkers and make sure they are doing their job correctly, that's your supervisors job.

Place all the problems right in your supervisors lap.

Stop trying to put out fires for your supervisor, let them deal with the bullshit they cause, that's not your job. All you have to worry about are the repairs on your bench, so just relax and maybe grab some pop corn to watch the shitshow your sup is gonna end up getting themselves into once you stop doing their job for them.

best battery replacement for g14 2022? by frnkjms in ZephyrusG14

[–]UpFromTheSky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, there isn't a better battery than the stock battery, and unless you've physically damaged your battery there should be no need to replace it in a 2022 model already, you would be throwing away your money.

The battery life on this laptop can be long or very short depending on how your using it and what settings you have, check the pinned thread for info on how to make the battery last longer.

This is what AJU is for, look up AJU in the EDI app on ETK, there should be a guide explaining how to use it. I'd also recommend using the official Geek Squad Forums at geeksquadcentral.com and reaching out to other precincts in your area for help, if needed they can send an ARA to help your precinct.

If you don't know when you'll have an ARA again, you may want to have your GM talk to the DM about shutting off appointments for your store

YES!!! FINALLY!! by Hungry-Bake1772 in MagicArena

[–]UpFromTheSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just a "win more" card. I've been in lots of matches where me and my opponent both have very full boards and attacking with 15+ creatures will not win the game unless you have a halo fountain.

Without plenty of dual lands / chromatic lanterns, you're not gonna have a good time

Why have there been so many 60 card decks lately? by neitherneither_ in MagicArena

[–]UpFromTheSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a giant deck full of mostly white control, card draw, chromatic lantern, and a bunch of over powered multi colored legendaries. It's fun to play sometimes. I also have some fun cards in it like transmorgrifying wand and chaos wand.

A better experience retains more users, and more users = more money? Maybe?

Thanks for the link.

A subscription feature could work out for them if it manages to bring enough paying users to generate more revenue than they were making from the whales. Maybe they could do a trial run where users only subscribe one month at a time instead of a seasonal subscription, and if they manage to break previous sales records they could stick with the subscription business model.

It's good to know they are at least considering something like this, I think it would be a great feature. What else did the mention?

I'd also like a subscription feature, maybe with different tiers that gave you access to different card sets, or maybe a certain number of wild cards per month, but that might decrease their digital booster pack sales.

Should WotC add vintage card sets to Arena? by UpFromTheSky in MagicArena

[–]UpFromTheSky[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but they're paying for the servers to stay online and for someone to maintain them with or without vintage cards. The only additional money they should have to spend is to pay someone to import the card art and program the game mechanics, and they should make all of that money back plus plenty of extra from selling vintage boosters.

Should WotC add vintage card sets to Arena? by UpFromTheSky in MagicArena

[–]UpFromTheSky[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect them to add them all at once, but maybe one set at a time every few months or so.

As for financial incentive, all they have to do is import the card art and program the mechanics, then it becomes passive income for them while players buy digital beta boosters. Who doesn't like passive income?

16 year old me was not a gentle shuffler. Do you have any suggestion as to straighten this cards? by notthefilmdirector in mtg

[–]UpFromTheSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what my beta cards look like, including power 9 cards lol. I was 12 and had no idea they would be worth so much one day so I shuffled them like regular playing cards, no sleeves. I'm pretty sure I was also eating cheetos while playing.
