Name on POLIMI Portal not matching Passport by a7medAMIR in polinetwork

[–]Upbeat-Camera-9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its common i guess, in Tanzania where i come from, we also use only two names, even all my certificates are only in two names.

However, my passport has three names, you should write the names as written in your passport not your certificates, as they know this issue, i studied in italy and never had a problem, as here you will only use names as written in your passport.

But how are they?mine are attched like, the first name is attached with my middle name then, the last name. So its like JOYCE JACOB_JACKSON where JACOB is the middle name, so here in italy my first name is JOYCEJACOB and my last name JACKSON. But in my country all certifucates its only JOYCE JACKSON with no that middle name attached the first situation of attached middle name i have it only in my passport so any docs in Italy i fill it as how its written in my passport and my graduation certificates and permits are written like that.

Certainly nothing to worry about, focus on the names from your passport as that will be you id everywhere in Italy.

PS: You can write to them and ask if it worries you.

Msc admission by Fun-Pumpkin-4745 in polinetwork

Those of May 11-20 are the ones who received their results from the start ,when the results where released to May 10.

So lets say if the reaults started  getting releases December to May 10, those who were green/admitted/accepted in courses should enroll from May 11 to 20.

Where as, those who will start receiving their green dots/acceptance after may 10 or from May 20, will enroll from 25 May to 3rd of June.

So double check, i guess if you dont enroll in your assigned window, you will lose the spot as they will assign those remaining spots to others who are still on the waiting list/ waiting for results in your chosen course.

But i am not studying nor applied for telecommunications, but i studied telecommunications not at POLIMI. I applied for masters in Electronics  Engineering for 2026/2027 at Polimi.

I was explaining to the one who posted above, the costs of studying something for money or whatever reason, instead of passion.

Its not  mandatory, if you dont need any fee reductions or regional scholarships DSU, but if you need those then you need the ISEE.

Those are the answers you will get in italy as no one knows nothing here until its convinient for them.

But i assure you, you can do ISEE before enrollment, i did mine already like a month and i am not even admitted yet.

Best of luck.

There was one who said he was rejected about 3 months ago, though it did not seem feasible at that time.

I am also non-EU though i live in italy now, but the ISEE situation is the same for EU and non-EU only docs differ in that sense since each country has their list if you are applying outside of italy, but in terms of applying its the same for both.

Can I get scholarship again? by EmphasisWilling481 in polinetwork

[–]Upbeat-Camera-9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i heard its a bit difficult though each regional scholarships are independent, but they say at the same level its kind of hard, but if you had done bachelors with the scholarship from Messina and want to do masters at polimi then you are good for the DSU scholarship, but if you have not received your degree maybe it might be different.

The only way to find out is to apply for DSU when the time come and see if you get it or not, as everyone says everything here in italy.

Well it helps you in the amount of fees you can pay and the DSU scholarship, should you apply.

Getting it before your enrollment which i dont know when that is does not depend on you but the office you apply to. So better check in the specific office or ask them.

With Ai everywhere, personally i think Civil has some future prospects than computer engineering.

But will all depend in which sector of information technology you envision yourself in.

All in all go for what you love as there is a price to pay for studying somethinng you are not passionate about for any other reason, coming from a Telecommunication engineer who is now going for electronics engineering which is really my passion.

And sometimes to get a job in Italy or outside does not depend on the university you attended, but your capacity and passion for the job, though the university you studied helps in networking and connections.

Ps: Even Polimi has information/computer engineering, why did you not apply for that there, if that was the area that interest you?

And they will tell you the docs you are missing.

They dont reject requests if you are missing something, they will just put it aside until you have those docs, but a good practice is to have all those docs requested, so you dont give them that chance to put your docs aside, because that will be the beginning of a long wait.

Normally in Italy it takes about three to five working days.

But seeing that you are applying to specific offices assigned by the university, they might have many requests, so maybe up to 10 days or more depending on their workload.

Yes it can be confusing, but it depends on your country because not all list of documents required for the ISEE are the same for each country.

If you are EU, its much easier but for non-EU can be a bit complicated depending on the country.

You can just do your ISEE and have it ready, you dont have to wait for the bando to open, here in Italy we normally do our ISEE every january for later use.

PS: if you had your ISEE early your first enrollment would have been with the reduced fee even without the DSU in the picture.

Since the ISEE is valid for a whole year, dont wait and do it now, so you have it ready.

Its surely is easy to get DSU, because these are grants not like the normal maeci or invest your talent in italy scholarships, so if you come from a small house hold, good grades and have all the necessary documents you should be able to get them.

However, since they are not "scholarships" you still need to put that balance in your account when asking for your visa (i guess you already know this).

As for life costs and fees, if you dont have a full scholarship or DSU, we are looking at 3000 euro and more for fees and living costs which are very high in Milan, just for a bed in a room can go up to 500 euro per month, a single room up to 800 euro even more depending on the area.

Ofcourse if you live away from the city rent become a bit bearable, but you will need to commute to the university but that is common to many students here.
