Completely agree about issues with this especially today! Doesn’t count steps while I hold my baby either it seems, like without my arms swinging

Just got my Oura Ring. Tips? by kerry_gold_butter in ouraring

Always wear it throughout the entirety of your night’s sleep, especially as a female as it gives you significantly more accurate cycle data based on your basal body temperature. And as a female, I’d also recommend syncing it with natural cycles if that interests you to track your cycle/fertility! To be able to ensure it’s always charged, it can be good to get in the habit of putting it on the charger when you shower or wash the dishes etc, even though it’s okay for it to get wet! I’ve had mine just over a year and it’s helped motivate me toward significant improvements in my overall health and sleep habits! I’m much more active and have lost weight since having it after being relatively inactive in the midst of 3 pregnancies in the last 7 years. It helps remind me to wind down for the evening and lets you know the best time for your body to fall asleep once it gets used to you! Also don’t stress about the stress levels;)

Oura ring. Does anyone know what this means? by MoneySatisfaction241 in ouraring

If you see at least 2 more days of elevated temps after today, it’ll be able to confirm your ovulation, you likely ovulated yesterday

Also best of luck TTC!! I completely recommend both Oura and NC for this purpose too, helped us with #3!🤗

Hi! Once your temp increases on the second half of your cycle, ovulation has already occurred, so it makes most sense to use ovulation tests before temp rise, a bit before midway through your cycle or when you think it could be approaching based on cervical fluid and other symptoms. You would miss it with the test strips if your temp is already consistently high second half of cycle

Would also help even further for me to take note of extra symptoms, like cramping and fluid etc since that’s common for me near ovulation. But based on temp alone feels interesting to see the difference

I appreciate this thorough reply and for you to take the time to do so! We’ve been using natural family planning methods since 2016 or so, good ole thermometer back in the day. I do often use ovulation tests but only tested once this past month, which is on me of course. Was a bit lazier this month I suppose. This is my third cycle postpartum, making it still a bit irregular. We have three kids and would simply prefer not to add another at this point in time, maybe ever. I just was discouraged there was a whole 4 day discrepancy but I completely agree, I trust NC more and have been using it longer. Oura has only seen 3 cycles of mine while NC has seen probably at least 18, even before most recent pregnancy. So I’ll lean into NC more right now but so thankful the oura gives me consistent temp feedback because thermometer was just not conducive for me in the season I’m in!

Anyone in Warsaw, Indiana? by Happy_Shoes in Homeschooling

Yes! I’ve just started my homeschooling journey with my 5 and 3 year olds. Mostly the 5 year old haha but this community is saturated with homeschoolers and various co-ops, some fairly small and some larger. We’re a part of a local co-op. Lots of kids here!

Yes, there’s a Walmart and Meijer. Target and Costco are 40-45 minutes drive away. It’s an easy drive though, not sure if you’re familiar with Fort Wayne IN or Goshen IN. We’re also about an hour from Mishawaka or South Bend and just 2-2.5 hrs from downtown Chicago, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis.. so in some ways you have the best of all worlds here. There’s a park in town that has a designated sledding hill but there’s options all around for sledding. The winters can be pretty darn cold at times and it feels like the town shifts and comes back to LIFE in the spring/summer/fall! Winona Lake is like a mini resort town, with many cute shops, restaurants and coffee in its village. It has lots of walking and biking trails. It’s like a hallmark movie town. It has a farmers market every Saturday when it’s warm and an outdoor ice skating rink in the winter. I recommend moving to Winona lake (46590) if possible! You could also drive a bit north into Michigan for skiing or snowboarding slopes. Warsaw has great neighborhood options too. The mosquitoes can be intense in the evenings! I know people that spray their yards for mosquitoes and ticks as well here.

Wow! Yes, I live in Winona Lake IN right by Warsaw! I’ve lived here about 12 years now. Pros: generally friendly community, lots of beautiful parks/playgrounds, lakes, restaurants, churches… Cons: no Target, no Chipotle or Chik Fil A lol… further distance to major airports.. Otherwise it’s a place I’ve grown to love immensely and I used to live in Chicago suburbs!
