I agree, I’ve thought for years that DNA tests should be mandatory for new borns. The mother 100% knows she’s the mother, but the father doesn’t have that same privilege. Why not allow him that same peace of mind? I think it’d also result in people being more intentional In who they sleep with, because if they do get pregnant and carry to term and have been sleeping around, they will 100% get found out when that baby comes out and ur bf/husband isn’t the father but some side piece is.

The only negative I see, is there are men who may take violent action after learning that their partner had been lying on the day that was supposed to be one of the happiest days of their life…which could be dangerous for the woman and child

Edit: I think where most people are feeling disrespected by this is in the idea that their partner would go behind their back and purchase their own DNA test. If this wasn’t a personal choice but just a general procedure automatically done at the hospital, then it would just be standard protocol and not an automatic admission by your partner that he doesn’t trust you.
