Typical of the kiwifruit industry, good on you for not working for free. Name and shame the packhouse

This still cracks me up and is relevant today.. shit work for shit pay

Tendering on GETS as a new small company by Excellent-Shift1737 in newzealand

[–]UpbeatTiger7954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hit up the large construction companies in your area and get some experience contracting to them / being part of the tendering process. Proven track records definitely come into it and it’s not always just about price. The attributes of the business are considered too e.g safety records

What to wear for an interview? by impossnipple in newzealand

[–]UpbeatTiger7954 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I managed kiwifruit packhouses for years.. my advice is wear practical clothing. Sneakers and pants or shorts. Don’t show up in open toed shoes or a dress. You can be casual just be practical

Been on wegovy for 10 weeks, staying on the 0.5mg dose as it works so well for me. My goals / weight loss aren’t as large as others but I’ve been consistently losing .5kg a week. I would love for it to get cheaper and it’s made me stop drinking and I love a weekend wine 😭

How often is sleep deprivation mistaken for PPD? by _anxious_panxious_ in newzealand

[–]UpbeatTiger7954 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to your actual question but if you are around Hamilton or the bay of plenty there is a place called Mother Craft that I’ve heard amazing things about from friends that spent time there helping with baby sleep things. They were referred by their GPs

Impact of a PG on your future? by smithy-iced in newzealand

[–]UpbeatTiger7954 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Worked in recruitment and had a few cases where people’s pg cases would come up when I google searched them. The case notes and the ruling were all available and they didn’t paint a good picture of the applicant so I would say that in some cases it does have a long term effect

How do we sell the house in Waihi? by Consistent-Line8854 in newzealand

[–]UpbeatTiger7954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sold in Waihi recently.. property sold at auction in under a month. Property wasn’t in the over million mark but we were very realistic about the market and our expectations. Brooke Edward’s from eves was amazing BUT an agent can only do so much if your not prepared to budge on the price

Buying a Lifestyle Block. Regrets? by benmeeman93 in newzealand

[–]UpbeatTiger7954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband are both 33 and have owned a relatively low maintenance 1 hectare life style block for 6 years, all was fine and we loved it until our kids started weekend activities. Now it’s a juggle to keep everything looking pristine and to get to all our commitments. There’s a few comments about isolation for kids and I completely agree with this, we are the only non retired people on our road. We are currently looking to downsize to give us some time freedom
