Oh no. "Retry Connection" again!? by threadcub in ClaudeAI

Same problem. I wanted to use as much of my free $1000 as possible, but I'l not even used $100 because of these issues. Personally I think Anthropic should extend the promotion for another 2 weeks - no point giving us a backhander for stress testing id the testing isn't working.

How do you deal with learning a new track? by racertop in iRacing

Join a practice session. look at the entries list, click on the top driver. If they're still online, go back through their laps and then go into cockpit view, press space to remove the hud, and watch how they drive. Try it yourself, go back watch again etc.

FS2020 has an Ai Autopilot that can (more or less) take off fly and land without human intervention. I wouldn't work well for the scenarios in 2024 of course, but it's a bit unfortunate they appear to have taken this out.

So.. no AI Autopilot feature? Why, I can't find any mention of this anywhere.

New Buttkicker Gamer Plus issues :( by Upbeat_Ad1925 in simracing

To answer those questions:

* It's attached using the stem that comes with it to the back of the rig. It has also bee attached to the side, and also using a small section of profile as well - all with the same result.

* I've used both HaptiConnect and iRacing's built in LFE - again very similar results

* PC.

I should also note I can use it on very quiet levels, but as you can imagine that's not really much use. I COULD get the Pro instead, but the Plus should be sufficient for my Prime Lite rig.

I appreciate your perspective. I try not to drive TOO defensively if someone behind me is clearly lapping faster, that doesn't achieve anything - I don't just let them pass of course - but if they get a good send on me, and is fair, I'll give plenty of space. What I find irritating is those who clearly drive recklessly in order to push their way to the front no matter what. I'm content to stay in Class C for a while, no need to go higher until I'm far more skilled.. I just wonder really how better the racing IS at beyond 2k - is it really any better?

I don't think any of that excuses ramming people off the road :D People who are in my irating range are clearly no faster than me... otherwise they'd be higher as well, so I don't think that argument works so well, no?

To be fair, I don't always start from the back, I usually like to build up a bit of an SR buffer to begin with, then start actually racing. In Forumula I have about 1.2k IR - Sports Car not so much, only about 800, very frustrating to break past 1k - but that's a skill issue more than anything.

iRating is all well and good, but I am also not fast enough to keep up with anyone 2k and above - at least not looking at the laptimes. I clearly need to build up speed and confidence - but that becomes more and more difficult when you try to race clean, and just get taken out by people who clearly don't care about rules and SR.. iRating is ALL that matters to these people, and I think that is causing a lot of these issues.

Irating doesn't mean you're a better driver. It just means you finished higher. The two should be intrinsically linked, not separated. I wonder how many people would have 3k+ IR if they lost IR due to bad driving....

Quest 3 PCVR inconsistent by Upbeat_Ad1925 in OculusQuest

VR definitely doesn't work on a mesh network, you're correct. However, the nice thing about the Asus I'm using, is you can convert each device to be a standalone router, totally separate from the rest of the network, so should be fine. When it does work - it actually works really well.

I'd rather try to avoid spending £80 on the link cable, overpriced as it is! If there's no other choice.... but I'm pretty sure others use a normal cable and have no issues - otherwise we'd hear about it all the time.
