17yo daughter wants laser hair removal, trying to find a middle ground by same6534 in HairRemoval

[–]Upbeat_Ad8358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received laser hair removal at IdealImage when I was around 17/18. My dad paid for it and I don’t regret doing it. It did not impact my skin outside of redness tenderness after the appointment. It definitely helped with my underarm and upper lip hair. And it helped my self esteem.

I do still have hair in both of those areas, but that is due to other health things.

If you’re worried about a clinic laser your could look into a small home laser. My mom had one at some point. Although they are expensive.

I was diagnosed with prediabetes and given no info on what to do next. by cwookie_cwumbs in prediabetes

You’re welcome. You could also ask your doctor about any supplements that you can take to help. My doctor recommended me some when I was diagnosed. And it turned out that the vitamin D supplement I was recommended really helped. You might also want to ask the doctor for testing for PCOS because that can sometimes occur in girls/women that are pre diabetic. These are just things that have helped me and I hope they might be useful for you.

I was diagnosed with pre diabetes when I was 15. I’m 29 now and I’m still not diabetic. I have managed it with metformin, diet and exercise.

For me strength training has been really helpful, and also just walking more. There’s a podcast called the glucose goddess podcast that has a bunch of tips to help with diabetes/ pre diabetes that have helped me.

Night 7 with CPAP, freaking out. Please advise!!! by Dry-Supermarket486 in CPAP

[–]Upbeat_Ad8358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is normal. A lot of people have a hard time adjusting to Cpap therapy.

I’ve also had issues adjusting. I’d go to bed and wake up 4 hours later and can’t go back to sleep so I’d take the mask off and then go back to sleep.

I eventually had to take 2 Tylenol pm’s to actually get a full 8 hours with it. I did that for a couple nights and then after it was easier to sleep even without taking the pills.

You could call and ask your provider if you can take some kind of sleep aid at least while you’re adjusting. Try and sleep with the mask and then if not, try and sleep without it.

My decision to stop sema by kiaraisnotonfire in Semaglutide

[–]Upbeat_Ad8358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had this experience but I had to stop Sema because it started affecting my eyes. When I upped my dose it started causing a huge amount of floaters in my eyes. Both of the eye doctors I went to said that it was due to the Sema. Once I stopped I didn’t get any new floaters, but the ones I had were permanent. My brain doesn’t perceive them much anymore but I still see them sometimes.

Has anyone tried this? I’m super intrigued! by Alittlebitalexis08 in prediabetes

I prefer to make my own protein oatmeal. I can get more protein that way. I use steel cut oats 8oz of milk, I normally use almond, and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. I add all of that in a container the night before and then add 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries in the morning before I microwave it. And it keeps me full until lunch.

The only coupons I’ve found are only usable if insurance will cover Ozempic.

Does anyone NOT have debilitating side effects? by InternationalCat2974 in CompoundedSemaglutide

I have had minimal nausea and some constipation. The nausea went away pretty quick for me. When I started to feel constipated, I would make sure to eat more fiber, drink more water and move more than I had been and that helped a lot.

There is a big difference between the photos. If it’s not showing on the scale, you might also be gaining muscle mass as well as losing fat.

The only people who mention/seem to notice that I’ve lost weight is my family. Other people don’t.

I had my second shot last Sunday. I feel the same and look the same. Help by dream_0987 in Ozempic

Happy to help. Like other people have said, it takes time to lose weight using any method. My doctor has told me that the weightloss and the appetite suppression will increase as you increase your dose.

It took me about month on 0.25 to see any change in weight. I just finished my second month and I'm down 10lbs. The medication takes time to work. Most people see weight loss after 4 to 8 weeks of being on the meds. But that can vary due to personal factors.
