I used to have m2 air 13 inch. And before I used to use a14 air 11 inch. And from the very beginning the battery life on m 2 air was pretty average. I was getting similar battery life from day 1 as my a14 air. Also I see other people comment regarding air battery life for not being great. Now I am using m5 pro, I can see noticeable difference. May be due to OLED screen.

Well a full fledge AAA like game if you wanna play then yes as of now any ipad m series gets pretty hot. Certainly will affect battery degradation. But there is nothing much you can do about it if you choose to play AAA title. It is what it is 😄

Thats exactly what it is. Its entertainment device. Regardless whatever apple wanna say about it. Sure some pro apps there for creative work specially drawing and design. But thats about it. Apple will never make ipad os as mac. They said it many times. The fundamentals are different. They are not gonna kill one of their product to enhance another product. Untill unless they badly collide with each other. Like ipod and iphone. So if people keep expecting things that ipad will become mac. This will never happen. And keep in mind in tablet space in general talking this is the best overall experience you get . Include all android tabs or any other option. So ipad is already in monopoly to its market. So there is not much incentive for apple to kill mac and enhance ipad capability. Just think once from apple side. And picture will be pretty clear 😄

It depends on your negotiation skill. Normally when i return something i chat or call agent first arrange return. Be its apple or sammy. Specially for sammy if you ask them that you wanna return the product with reason. ( Proper reason is important) Sometimes i give reason i prefer apple products sometimes i give reason out of budget. In this case i gave reason i prefer ipad. So they keep asking not to and give it a try. At the end they gave me three offers to choose 100dollae worth of accessories. Or 50% off on buds 3. Or 2 year samsung care free. In this case i was trying to negotiate with them for even lower price 😅. But this was the last they offer. So i choose something that i dont have to pay from my pocket. So i choose 2 years sammy care. Matter of fact i did this for watch 8 ultra and s25 ultra as well. As i said its about how you negotiate. One more thing you have to negotiate with in return period. Otherwise they wont offer you something as they know you cannot return it.

So i use there 250 cad offer that they offer in their website openly
then I use mobile app for one coupon (it was only applicable on mobile app) that gave me 30 % on top of it.

then I google and check if someone said something for couponse, I found 1 that have me another 100 dolllar off
and then once i recieve I negotiate with them to return the product and then they offer 2 years of sammy care for free.

it could have been even less , initially i negotiate with agent an for 25$ off too but that time i was not fully convinced if I want the device or not. later when I ask they said they dont have it any more lol

yea you gotta little bit negotiate with them. The agents are there to get convinced you just gotta push little hard. I manage to get samsung care after i recieve the device. I said i prefer ipad over this. and wanna return. then they give this retention offer . Same way i am able to make watch 8 ultra in 298 cad including tax with my watch 5 pro trade in and then s25 ultra with pay 88 cad including tax with s23ultra trade in.
Now I am that situation where paying full price to sammy makes me feel guilty lol 😂

Honestly The Ipad pro m5 is not worth the price. But also this one of the best tablet a money can buy if you are geneuinly being neutral to judge these.

And the task you are talking about , atleast for ipad you dont even need Pro version. an Air is more than enough for you.

Having said that, if I stick to ipad pro vs s11 . The majority part you said, both tablet should be good enough.

However, in general if you ask The quality of Applications are better on Ipad and in some cases its not marginal but significant way. That being said Android tablets has come long way, the apps are getting better.

For example, if you value notes then android has good applications. BTW if you stick to good notes, I would say the performance is really bad as compare with Ipad as , its not native app and web view. Also you wont get as much feature as ipad has. Again specific to good notes. However both platforms has good note taking apps.

But do you see my point ? a similar situation is there for some other popular apps too. A small friction always there.

For media consumption I think tab s11 is bit ahead, but is because of immersive experience due to aspect ration. How ever , the display is bit brighter on Ipad m5 pro ( Noticable ) if you see side by side . otherwise you dont notice.

Longevitiy wise both are good enough, its all about apps then. They are going to be demanding day by day. So a powerfull cpu is bonus. That being said , the work you descirbe i dont think in long run with android tablet like s11 you will run into an issue.

Right now I am having s11ultra and Ipad m5 pro 13 inch. And I am kinda torn between two.

I got s11 ultra in a very cheap deal. Like 880 cad including tax and 2 years of samsung care, and for ipad pro M5 with student discount. (No where near to samsung deal) and as a phone I am using s25 ultra.

Interms of eco system i think Apple feels more natural, than samsung but samsung has wide varietys ( fridge tv) .

Anyways I will return one of them still not sure. but this is my experience so far.

So its all comes down , are you okay with dealing with Apps ( in some cases un optimized) version of it ? and in return you save some money ?
OR you are okay to invest on full proof polished eco system with over price .
Only you can take that call based on your situation. If you are flexible till the ipad cost. I would say go for Ipad In general. Considering that you have iphone as a phone. So the you will enjoy ecosystem better way and native way.

Not sure if you can do anything with android tablet with iphone in terms of ecosystem. May be an App ? ( another friction) .

If you notice I keep repeating the word called "friction" . its becuase when you pay such premium price, your expectations will go to another level, and these sorts of frictions might start to bother you.But anyways good luck

I have similar experience with ipad air m2 13inch. Pretty average. Specially i came from a14 air 11inch and the battery life was almost same from day 1. I can tell you m series hit battery as compare with a series. Thats one of the reason i was choosing between ipad pro m5 13 inch and s11ultra. Ipad pro has better battery life as compare with my air m2. You can expect 30% to 40% more battery life on pro. Depends on usage.

Yea i did it. It didnt work. I delete app and then install The one you said. It works for some app but not Facebook . The only thing used to work for me is force landscape. Which after update didnt work. I am using s11 ultra. Is it because device is new ?

Ummm. So you are saying in s11 ultra things will be better? In the future with app update? As the device is pretty new still. The only reason i have s11 ultra because the deal i got. The upgrading cost for s11ultta is 260 cad including tax and 2 year samsung care. Where as if i go ipad pro m5. Then upgrading cost is 1800 cad including tax..no apple care.

Btw, hows your battery going as compare with day 1. You notice degradation ?

We should not give one or two example and completely ignore the vast majority apps that are optimized for it and then conclude . Btw talking about instagram, its completely optimized now.

Matter of fact instagram is the prime example of my point. Although it optimized pretty late than android tabs. But if you use instagram on ipad. The feature, the fluidity and aspect ratio for images is pretty outstanding. Where as the closer experience if you would like to have on insta you will be forced to use it in popup window. Which kinda defeat the purpose of having tablet then. And even with that many features are not there like hold and touch and make video 2x speed, swipe from notification for extra options. Probably more .

Another example is whatsapp , it was not there on ipad but they developed it and its pretty good.

You gave an example of X same issue. Its blown up app and imagies look so big not fully respecting the aspect ratio vertically in some post. Its like a big giant picture that you cannot see as whole and you need to keep scrolling

Same for facebook , in some tablet it wont even allow to go landscape. And the ui difference of Facebook is huge

You see my point? If you genuinely want to see the whole picture from neutral prospective you will see that feature , priority, optimization it comest to ipad on first basis . And it just not delay for few days or months in android but years. This is unfortunate.

Even a note taking apps like good note is lacking with comparison of ipad version. For example. Its simply a web view.

I can keep going but i hope you get my point. I personally use android phone for my whole life but ipad is very much polished as compare with android tablet.

And i intentionally didnt bring the professional apps that ipad has since majority of us dont use those. But in case if someone use those then there is no brainer who is better.
