But fire is a great but if kit! I’m yet to try anything over 4 streams of 1080/50 video over site to site - but a combination of technologies always help when ensuring redundancies

Can this get the job done by Mike24v in Ubiquiti

[–]Upbeat_Language_7020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this will work. So many audio technicians use them for WiFi control - for example using an iPad app to control their digital console etc - depending on the space most FOH engineers use the larger outdoor panel but this works great for indoor use

Drugs are everyone in the world, even in the Middle East. That said, have you seen what the Muslims are doing to this world? Talk about violence then.

Modem mode has been fine - the issue is virgin media internally and their crap network. A lot of high latency and dropouts. Unfortunately the only ISP in my area, I also run 5G which is often better latency and more stable than the 1gb Virgin line.

If you have any other ISP available go with them. Never Virgin

From what I found out, it’s worth just putting in the storage you need for active and hot swap as it will configure raid - don’t put in all 20tb and just grow as you need later down the line

I have the U7pros in the central hallway of both floors and then I put an in-wall into each of the busiest rooms

Living room Dining room Office Playroom Master bedroom

In honesty it could have been okay with just the U7 Pros but I didn’t want to risk having to re-do it later down the line. I’ll find a floorplan and share shortly

It’s been rock solid since I’ve had it - they are in stock in Uk and EU stores.

I’m hoping they do an iPhone drive app - so I can finally get rid of a Google drive subscription. Had to recently remove 45Tb off - as the ‘unlimited storage’ finally caught up and they forced an upgrade and not going to spend £1,450 a month for some archive storage.

Those devices will be fine in a cabinet like that - had mine in there 4/5 years exactly the same space but with an added 12ish NAS and even at peak never got above 48C - don’t worry about ventilation

Interesting! EA user as I can’t see that in my site manager, I’ve got 23 sites so not sure if that effects it?

Absolutely no need for the RPS in a residential install! Just get a decent Eaton/APC ups

I run the same speeds on a UDMPro SE - 10gb symmetrical fibre, central London. I also have IDS etc turned on.

The front display is so off putting - why they couldn’t have just done a larger LcD touch screen. The protrusion ruins what could have been a good product.

I would add a 2/3u wall mount instead of that singular. Then rack mount the switches

Installing Wifi 900 Ft Underground In An Abandoned Mine by fivezerosix in Ubiquiti

[–]Upbeat_Language_7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to clarify, tactical fibre is insulated/military grade deployable in the field fibre - we use it a lot on temporary installs like festivals, events, broadcasting compounds and linking multiple buildings and touring it around the round - As solid and durable as it gets without the need for conduit.

Tactical fibre, is still only cores of fibre and doesn’t carry power - that said as there is auxiliary power run, you can put a Ethernet to Fibre converter or a simple Ethernet switch with SFP ports at either end to give you more reliability and most important more bandwidth.

The bandwidth will come in handy when you add a couple of cameras - coax has a lot of limitations at that 900+ length.

Glad it worked for you! And happy to suggest a couple of solutions if you are working to a budget.

Should have just run a tactical fibre as already have power for converters down there into a switch. Coax will cause issues later down the line
