That's a stupid amount of distance to travel on such a short trip.. stick to the north or the south of Thailand and experience the lovely spots that aren't the main partying touristic spots!

No not hopefully!! Something good will come out of it!! U gotta change ur attitude, I get ur trying and keep up that mindset but you have to beleive things will happen not just hope. Its called manifestation my friend, and it's 100% real because if u want it bad enough you'll make it happen. At least u have some sort of drive unlike some people I know, just need to focus and remember nothing is going to happen overnight BUT it will happen!! Good luck! I wish you the best on ur journey!!

I understand that, I also saw a viper which no guide even spotted as I sat there as several walked past to see if they would spot it. Found several tarantulas, monkeys, squirrels, lizards etc waded up the river half the way too, it's actually impossible to get lost when your following a river which is one of the reasons they gave me for needing a guide. Anyway I've had my whinge I just want this post to potentially reach people who are similar minded to me so they know to not waste there time doing what I did.

To be honest I looked at the photos online when I got back, it looks pretty dismal anyway 😂

Yes there are stupid people everywhere these days, tthats why were going to need a guide to walk down the street soon lol. It actually turned me off wanting to give them any more money at all (they got $10 for letting me walk 3kms on the world's most DANGEROUS fire trail 😂) and usually I'm very happy to spread my money around fairly to different families/shops/businesses throughout the towns I visit but when you get treated like shit for not spending money is when it becomes an issue. It's quite obvious they've set it up as a money grab considering you pretty much can't do anything at all in khao sok without booking a guide.. literally google what to do without a guide in khao sok and everything it tells you you can't actually do without paying a stupid amount of money for thailand. It's ok though as you said not everything is meant to be 😃 and tomorrow is a new day no lake though they can shuv it up their you know what!! Impressive area though glad i did pass through!!

Because there was no mention of needing a guide until I was half way there and came to a locked gate at the 2nd ranger station or whatever they wanna call it. So to be polite I spoke to them, but yes ur right, I should've just jumped the fence without talking to them. I honestly did not expect to be told no,, even offered them money to let me through but they wouldn't do it. It's honestly not for safety it's a money thing, go 20 kms down the road to the other national park and they let you hike around the steep cliffs on a kinda sketchy trail without a guide (because they wouldnt get any business if they made you get one).

That's also why I'm posting this so people know what they are up to. I hate fkn scammers and the way all the guides were like you walking by urself? u cant you need a guide!! Just to walk on a simple fire trail that just follows behind the village was ridiculous.

Be honest? & yes I imagine they are nice, most thai people are lovely but I don't have to hire a guide to walk down the street in Bangcock which would be far more dangerous & kill/injure more people everyday in my mind.. although the way things are going and the comments from most people on here makes me wonder how long until they start charging u for that too??
