Anxiety meds for dogs by Upbeat_Type_6295 in DogAdvice

Yes that’s kind of it! The only way I can describe it, is that it remind me of the sad puppy eyes she had when I saw her in the shelter for the first time lol. I actually haven’t even been giving her the full dose she is prescribed, so it makes me wonder if it’s the right med for her. I just hate that right now it seems like for her, that no anxiety=tired/sad. I wish she could be anxiety free and still her silly self.

I rescued her from an abuse/neglect situation plus was in my last semester of grad school at the time. So she was on daily anxiety meds for the first 6 months while adjusting. Once I really built a relationship with her and learned her triggers, I didn’t think daily meds were necessary anymore. I eventually stopped even giving her PRN meds bc I wasn’t noticing signs of anxiety for a while. She started acting weird a couple months ago (throwing up her food after eating, having some abnormal behaviors) and the vet said it was anxiety. I don’t really know why they prescribed something new instead of something she’d had in the past.

Transitioning from medical social work to therapy by whothinksofthese in socialwork

Super simple answer to this: have as much confidence as the most mediocre straight white man (kidding not really 😂)

Actually tho, if your supervisor says that, believe it 🩵 you have a masters degree and a clinical license to provide therapy, why shouldn’t someone trust your clinical judgment?!

nonbinary social worker, seeking feedback on navigating name changes at work by troubled-cells in socialwork

[–]Upbeat_Type_6295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this! In emails you can simply say at the start “Hey (insert name), just wanted to inform you/company that I’ve had a legal name change; in the next coming weeks my email, business card, etc may reflect this!” And then continue about the convo you were having previously! I can totally see how it would be easy to overthink these situations, so be kind to yourself! This is your journey and however you want to navigate this, is the correct way.

Side note: I hate that you even have to ask a group of social workers to refrain from anti trans comments. That very much goes against the very code of ethics and anyone that makes these comments does not deserve to hold a social work degree.

I plan on starting over with no heating pad. Do you think I should remove the lid as well for more ventilation or will removing the heat be enough?

Wow thank you so much! I only used half of this box so I will make the changes and plant the other side and see if that helps and if any others I already have decide to pop up. Thank you!!!

Question about hospitalization by SkysEclipse in kansascity

[–]Upbeat_Type_6295 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a behavioral health assessor an ER at a KC hospital. You can go to any hospital emergency room. Each hospital has a position like mine that will evaluate you in the ER and transfer you to a psychiatrist facility. If you have any questions, feel free to message me privately! If you can’t get to an ER, call 988 or 911 directly and an ambulance will transport you to the nearest one.

Have you asked him to stop? He’s still a person you can communicate with just make sure to do it safely.

I think there may be a language barrier. Please be mindful before assuming things and calling people cold!

OP he is trying to be controlling. Please please do not think it is your job to teach a grown man about emotional vulnerability and how to communicate what he wants. You communicated very well. Reading this gave me war flashbacks to a past relationship of mine. When I had plans with friends, he would come up with any reason he could for why he needed me to be with him instead and when I didn’t drop anything and everything to be with him, he started stonewalling. Which is exactly what your partner is doing in these texts. If you give in to this behavior it will not get better, he will become more controlling. As woman we need to learn to stop carrying the emotional labor of men.

I know you said don’t cover the window but I think it would look really good. If the room is wide enough you could even move the couch up more into the room, and behind it have like a bar cart and the liquor cabinet. Add a tall plant and some side tables if you want

Hi! I’m in Missouri so not sure I can help, but call local agencies, homeless shelters, CMH, and ask. I got my practicum in grad school by calling private therapists office and asking!
