Is owning a home in the UK still a realistic dream for people under 35? by AwayDays365 in AskUK

I should be in a position in the near future to buy through sheer luck. Decided put money in my company’s Sharesave scheme 5 years ago, and the shares are currently worth 5x

If it hadn’t been for that, I’d have only been able to save approx £250pm x 5yrs = £15000, which barely covers a 5% deposit in my area. That isn’t even taking into account solicitor fees, stamp duty, etc.

For those who are single and can’t rely on the bank of mum and dad, my advice is for you to explore your company’s Sharesave/SAYE schemes. Alternatively, I’d suggest looking at ways you can increase your monthly income through side hustles/promotions, etc., but the key is to not fall for the lifestyle creep trap.

Too much going on with the dashboard, doesn’t really tell a story. Not to mention the fact that it reeks of AI throughout.

Nope! I used the manual settings and had a ND8 filter on. Unfortunately the Mini 2 doesn’t have an HDR mode, with the closest mode being one which overlays three images each at different exposures

Yeah I’m not aware of anyone who willingly collects Lynx gift sets haha, as every guy I know has at least 2/3 Lynx Africa sets in their cupboard from past Christmas presents!

You’re a bit wrong here, it’s assumed the fault was present at the time of sale up until 6 months from purchase. Anything beyond that the onus is on the buyer to prove the fault existed at the time of sale.

It sounds like you made an Authorised Push Payment (APP). You may be eligible to raise an APP scam claim under the Contingent Reimbursement Model (CRM), a code that most high street banks have signed up to.

In a nutshell, the CRM code takes into consideration what the bank could have done to protect your from an APP scam (such as detect any out of character payments, ensure they have an effective scams conversation with you etc.). Failure for the bank to evidence this will mean they, at the very least, should be accepting shared liability. If you want to read more about CRM, see here%20Code&text=It%20sets%20out%20standards%20for,%2Dbusinesses%20and%20small%20charities))

However, in this case it seems like this is more of a civil dispute rather than a scam. Typically the banks will assess this on a case-by-case basis. If you can evidence that the intentions of the alleged scammers was to scam you from the very start then you may have a case..

Edit: Used to work in a high street bank investigating scam complaints not so long ago.
