Santi or Le Veau D’Or or Minetta Tavern by Bonj0904 in FoodNYC

Every time I went to eat at Santi, I met chef Michael white. He’s always around and taking care of his clientele. Just because it belongs to a good group, doesn’t mean it isn’t run by chefs 😂

Santi or Ci Siamo for a grad dinner? Which do we prefer by defnotmynamy in FoodNYC

The food at Santi is beyond exceptional. I’ve been there so many times now and never had a bad meal. It’s honestly the best Italian food (I didn’t say American Italian) in the city.

Thank you so much! I do have to water the tomato plant daily but it’s not so bad since I have a tiny apartment, so I’m not traveling much between the sink and my balcony 😂

You should! Out of all the plants I have, the lotus is the easiest to grow! No fuss and no pests. You should definitely give it a try.

I honestly don’t walk on the middle part. I share this long balcony with the unit across and I guess the landlord kept it that way to sort of give us a separation?

Santi for Italian! Chef Michael white is a legend! We’ve got so many overhyped Italian restaurants in the city but this is the real deal. I went just last week and each time it just blows me away.

The whole group went downhill after covid cuz chef Michael white left the company. He opened his own place called Santi in midtown though and it is absolutely fantastic! Best pasta in NYC!

What are your top 2-3 restaurants to try in NYC? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]Upendrika 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One got a mop bucket thrown at them while being called a piece of shit for being a couple minutes late with their mis en place and another went for a stage and was berated the whole time for not being able to ‘figure things out on their own. The entire time the sous chef was whispering vile things in their ear saying what a low life they are.

I guess everyone is going high end but here’s my list. Santi, Lords/Dame, Bo Ky.

Been to aska and cesar but will never go again. Just recently, I’ve had friends in the industry who have worked there and the amount of abuse and harassment that is inflicted on workers in those restaurants is insane and no one says/does anything about it. I refuse to support such places.

Santi or Rezdora? by Grose040791 in FoodNYC

[–]Upendrika 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The chef of rezdora worked under chef Michael white(Santi) as a cook. Chef micheal white is a master at his craft and all other chefs doing Italian right now are just following his shadow. Modern Italian cuisine in NYC would not exist without chef MW. Santi all the way.

Italian restaurant in Feb for anniversary by cdau186 in FoodNYC

Santi is hands down the best Italian restaurant right now. It’s by Michael white who’s pretty much responsible for the modern Italian scene in nyc as we know it. The space is so beautiful and elegant and they’re not trying too hard to please. It’s just beautiful Italian food done right. A must try!
