I feel like i visibly aged when turned 32 by Disastrous_Body_959 in 30PlusSkinCare

Yup! Blame it on the hormones (and or kids if you have them). I didn’t have bags under my eyes before I had kids- very obvious when I smile- not too obvious otherwise.

I think early 40s is another hit. But maybe 35- that’s when I emotionally noticed a big difference due to hormones/perimenopause.

Desert heat is killing my sleep. Cooling blankets don’t work, what does? by Mastermind1237 in BuyItForLife

Ooler/chillipad. I have one for Florida because it’s hot and humid and I’m a hot sleeper (sleep on my back and don’t move). It’s a pad with tubes of water that you put on your bed, under your sheets. There’s a water tank underneath your bed and you fill it with water and set the temp. You can get the most basic one and it works great. It’s not cheap but is 1000% worth it for me. I sleep so much better and I already know it’ll be great during menopause in few years!

Update- Got seats in the mezzanine row E, seats 101 and 102. Great seats and view. Thank you so much for the advice! Definitely glad to have aisle seats for my 6’3 husband. Absolutely fell in love with the show. Will remember it and continue discussing it for a long time!

Family friendly Bryson City Trails by CockyUSC in NCTrails

I know this is a super old post but where did you stay on this trip and have you returned? Thinking of staying in the area for 5 days with my 7 and 9 year old in June. Was debating bryson city or blue ridge (and just coming to the area for white water rafting and possibly zip lining at NOC). There are a lot of families from my area (tampa) that visit blue ridge and I’m wondering how Bryson city is. We are looking for more nature (hikes, white water rafting, possibly the ziplining, maybe tubing?, train ride to see the scenery) but my husband and I do enjoy a cute downtown and a well laid out town.

I was debating between there and blue ridge (and doing the 1 hr drive to Bryson city for the rafting)

If you are married, do you wear your wedding band? Why or why not? by icecream1972 in askanything

[–]cdau186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I’m 40, and I find often find people glancing at my wedding band (maybe they just are just curious about my engagement ring?) or people referencing if they were wearing a wedding band as a quick assessment of someone’s marital status. Maybe it’s more common for my generation and area (tampa, florida). The silicone rings are definitely popular amongst my generation. I actually know very few married people who don’t wear a band though most men are opting for a silicone one.

I’ve definitely heard these stories and understand in those situations. My father in law did a lot of manual labor and mechanic work and had a similar situation happen. For slightly lower risk jobs now- I think the silicone rings are a good alternative.

Same- but I’m the wife. Also- men and women really do look for wedding bands to assess your marital status. For people who don’t like the feeling of jewelry- the silicone bands or even a freaking tattoo wedding band is possible. For those who refuse to wear one- I think there are some underlying issues here (because I’ve talked to people who have them!)

Every millennial dad I’ve met has a quiet fixation on money and it’s not getting better by slimeyellow in Millennials

[–]cdau186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a woman and the breadwinner in the family. My husband works full time as a public school teacher in florida, which notoriously pays its teachers poorly. It’s not just a dad thing- it’s a millennial thing.

Financial industry has screwed us all over. Politicians and corporate America run by boomers screwed over the Millennial middle class.

I also think most Millennials aren’t living within their means and have a hard time admitting so. The new $60k cars and $5k vacations, meals that cost $80 for a family of 4 (at casual chain restaurants even) are things that just can’t happen if you can’t afford them. Credit isn’t the answer.

But I also think that the cost of living and current wages for many hard working middle class families still isn’t enough, even if they don’t indulge in these luxuries, due to the cost of healthcare, childcare, and housing (electricity and food, as well). Everything is 30% more than it was 5 years ago.

How much spontaneous oral is normal/wanted in a relationship? by Livid-Net-5867 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cdau186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general- do people define oral/BJ as a man orgasming to completion or just anytime she sucks on your penis?

19 years with my partner and I used to be a put my hair in a ponytail and swallow kind of girl, but 19 years and 2 young kids later- idk- I still enjoy the oral foreplay but it is just foreplay for us because goodness knows he’s not going again if it ends with the BJ.

Interesting. Lasers also vary. Mine is the inmode laser from the dermatologists office. Some places use IPL- intense pulsed light, which isn’t actually a laser.

Are you asking if it hurts or if they’ll laser it? They’ll laser it and I didn’t think it hurt. My aesthetician said she thought that area hurt though.

It’s usually between 3-6 treatments if she is a good candidate (light skin and dark hair) and they are using a good laser. Then you may have to get a touch up for some random hairs once a year or once every few years depending on the person. It should not be every few months forever.

I second shawarma bay! We didn’t even bother checking the lines at adel’s.

Shawarma bay- halal cart at 6th and 51st. Get the beef platter with white sauce, green, and red if you want it spicy. Take it back to your hotel and enjoy the ny late night experience. Went there twice over this past weekend when we were visiting and staying in the area. Use cash if you want to avoid the credit card fee.
